What's Happening

  • *NEW* In preparation for the 2023 Major League Baseball All-Star Week, The Alliance for Pioneer Square is inviting businesses to a virtual Community Presentation on May 31 from 9-10am, to learn more about plans for the region's upcoming premier sporting event. RSVP here.

Worker and Business Resources

  • *NEW* Last week new rules were announced requiring employers to report “no payroll” for a maximum of eight consecutive quarters when employers have no paid wages to report, adding employees’ dates of birth to quarterly wage reports and clarifying the definition of placement, benefit eligibility for self-employed elective coverage, and provisions that allow designated representatives to file weekly claims.   • *NEW* Artist Trust currently accepting applications for Grants for Artists' Progress (GAP) until June 23! GAPs are unrestricted project-based grants of $1,500 for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) artists living in King County, and artists of all background outside of King County. Partner Efforts


  • *NEW* Stuf, a new self storage business in Pioneer Square is hosting a a Brunch Open House at McCoy's Firehouse Grill on Thursday, May 25th from 8am-12p. Feel free to drop by to learn about their services!
  • *NEW* Beginning this summer, a ferry charted and run by Goprop will depart from Des Moines Marina and arrive in Seattle Tuesday through Sunday with five round trips per day. Find the schedule here.
  • *NEW* SDOT is seeking feedback on the design of the Route 40-Plus Multimodal Corridor (TPMC) project in Westlake, Fremont, Ballard, and North Seattle. Design updates throughout the corridor are now available thanks to community input and technical analysis. Please share your feedback here.


Other Neighborhood Updates


  • The Alliance for Pioneer Square is asking business owners/managers to fill out our annual crime and safety survey. The goal of the survey is to get an accurate understanding about the impacts of crime and the effects of safety concerns of Pioneer Square businesses over the past year. The 2023 Annual Pioneer Square Crime and Safety survey will close on May 31st, 2023. Take the survey here.

Additional Resources


  • The Alliance offers free virtual/in person de-scalation trainings led by the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID) and the Seattle Police Department (SPD). The MID/SPD de-escalation training is going to be in-depth training program that teaches you how to recognize, reduce and manage aggressive behavior. Please contact chris@pioneersquare.org to schedule a training for your business.


  • Each Friday, we give neighborhood businesses and organizations the opportunity to share a series of photo and video content to the Alliance for Pioneer Square’s social media channels via stories, feed posts and live video updates, for the entire day.   • The Pioneer Square Business Owners & Managers Facebook group is an opportunity for business owners and retailers to participate in an online forum and share resources, support and stories.
