Sharing Resources for Families of Children with Special Healthcare Needs


The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) offers this webpage with resources and information about dealing with Hurricanes, as well as a timely section addressing the aftermath.  Among the resources are tips for survivors and tips for talking with children after a disaster or traumatic event.

As we send donations, prayers, and all other forms of support to those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, it is a good time to sit down and revisit or create an emergency plan specific to the needs of a child with special health care needs.
