Peter graduated with a degree in Economics and Ecology and spent 18 years in the aerospace manufacturing industry as contracts and commercial manager at GEC Marconi, Smiths Industries and Meggitt Aviation & Marine. He subsequently worked for a local authority installing EMAS and worked as sustainability consultant for Shell Exploration and Production.
He established the Business Council for Sustainable Development-UK in 2002 and was Deputy Chief Executive for four years before leaving to establish International Synergies Limited where he created the National Industrial Symbiosis Programme (NISP). NISP capacity building has been delivered to over 30 countries across five continents.
Peter has talked on industrial symbiosis at global fora, including the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF), Globe, Green Week, Rio + 20, G7 Alliance on Resource Efficiency and will be speaking at the upcoming World Circular Economy Forum. He was awarded ‘Sustainability Leader 2014’ in the ‘Sustainability Leaders’ Awards.
