Speech-Language Pathologist
Myofunctional Therapist
Breena is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. She received her Master’s Degree at the University of Redlands and has been in private practice since 1999. Breena specializes in pediatric speech and language disorders. Her approaches used in therapy include a variety of oral-motor techniques from Talk Tools, PROMPT Therapy, and the Kaufman method to treat children with apraxia and other oral motor impairments. Breena is also trained in a variety of Myo Functional Therapy methodologies and Breathing techniques (Buteyko). Her philosophy is that children who enjoy their therapy sessions become active and focused participants in the learning process of new skills and motor function. Breena is also very active in the ATPF community, as she helps with training all of our interns and volunteers on how to work with our autistic community.

Question of the Day
Answers from the ATPF Community in Chat
  • Dayna Hoff: "We all moved back to San Diego in January 2020 and had Garret studying and working online from March to January 2021. It was a blessing to all be at home together during COVID-19."
  • Breena Hayman: "I had the opportunity to reinvent my life. Create new opportunities.
  • Rebecca Barron: "I feel blessed to have worked remotely, expanded ATPF's global reach, mentored 20 interns and pivoted our programs and services quickly to serve our families. Also I am grateful to have spent lots of valuable time with family and that we are all still safe and healthy."
  • Laura Kuhns: "I have been home with my 18 year old and 23 year old to have more quality time with them."
  • Padmini Tillu: "I found something I had lost a long time ago or thought I had lost it so back all together now for the first time in a long time."
  • Ally Bokesch: "More time with family who all have remained healthy! We have spent a lot of time doing puzzles, games, and learning new skills!"
  • Jeff Snyder: "I was blessed by the growth and development of my autism and disabilities self-advocacy such as numerous interviews and being a contributor to a book that is now on Amazon.com!"
  • Glenn Lasker: "The compassion and kindness with people I've met."
  • Susan Bourrillion: "I was happy to stay home with my girls. A 9 year old chi weenie and a 16 year old Chihuahua. We lost the Chihuahua in October but she was such a love. She loved to have me working from home. We snuggled all the time."
