Submit Your 2020 Conference Ideas Today!

Planning for next year's annual conference is underway and we are now accepting 2020 session submittal forms!

In order to have a fresh and meaningful conference each year, we ask that you fill out this form with your session and speaker ideas. Generally, we like to have two or three speakers from different backgrounds for each topic as well as those who are involved locally or statewide.

The deadline to submit your ideas is January 31 and you can find the form here

The 2020 FRA Annual Conference will be held at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, October 14-16.
Award Spotlight: City of Winter Haven

Congratulations to the City of Winter Haven for receiving the 2019 Capital Projects and Beautification Award for the South Central Park Project. 

The  South Central Park Project  focused  on preserving the park's charm and historical significance while enhancing its amenities for future generations.
 
The 24-hour park offers a multi-use design to allow visitors to maximize the new public space. The design accommodates parking and offers repurposed, lit  pedestrian  walkways throughout the piazza leading to trailways for safety.

City of Destin - Projects, Grants and Contracts Manager

The City of Destin is seeking a projects, grants and contracts manager responsible for seeking and securing external grants to fund future projects.

Other essential duties and responsibilities could be planning and tracking progress to ensure all project goals are being met, preparing and presenting progress reports, serving as a professional liaison for the City at County and State level meetings and other various administrative tasks.

Board Member Spotlight:
Ken Thomas

The FRA would like to highlight one of our board members, Ken Thomas!

Ken is FRA's newest treasurer and previously served four years on the FRA board of directors.

Ken currently serves as the director of economic development and housing for the City of Leesburg. He is responsible for managing three different CRA districts within the City of Leesburg and is dedicated to redeveloping underdeveloped areas by addressing blight and infrastructure issues to benefit the community.
