World Elder Abuse
Awareness Day
Thursday, June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD).
This year's theme is focused on strengthening protections against financial and material exploitation, which includes improving the understanding of this form of elder abuse and discussing manners in which elders are able to participate to end victimization. Many of these incidents go unreported partly due to embarrassment of the victims but also due to their inability to report, which is why it is important to increase awareness of this ongoing issue.
In order to honour victims and increase awareness, join us in
wearing purple  on June 15th!

Available for pick up soon!

BC Seniors Week

City of Surrey
British Columbians celebrated  Seniors' Week earlier this month and here at SOURCES, we continue to celebrate and acknowledge the integral role seniors play in our community.
This edition of RESOURCES showcases members of the senior community who are not only one of the demographics SOURCES serves, but help some of our programs, including our social enterprises, to thrive. Thanks to these compassionate, hard-working and courteous individuals, we are able to continue promoting our mission of Social Wellness in our Community. Thank you, seniors!
Filled with videos, stories and outlets that allow YOU to make beneficial and effective changes in our community, we are positive that this newsletter will appeal to all our readers. To this Seniors' Week edition newsletter's audience: happy reading!
SOURCES is Participating in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge!
The challenge runs from June 1 to June 30, 2017. Every dollar donated to SOURCES via or during June enters us to win a $10,000 donation. The winner will be announced on Canada's 150th Birthday, July 1st, 2017!

By donating to our Volunteer Wheels Program, you will give seniors a chance at living longer, more independently and with greater access to essential medical care.
