Volunteers Needed!
March 7-10, 2017
Homeless Count logo
The Metro Vancouver Homeless Count is taking place inside shelters during the evening of March 7 and on the streets on March 8. Sources Newton Resource Centre is the hub for an extended count in Surrey on March 9 and 10.

A total of 250 qualified volunteers are needed for the Count in Surrey alone. While many volunteers have signed up, many more are needed.

Volunteers help gather valuable information used by governments, service providers, community groups, and funders so they can 
plan for appropriate programs to address homelessness 
and, in turn, measure our progress in reducing homelessness.

Canada 150 for 150 Volunteer Challenge
Celebrate Canada's 150th Anniversary by giving back to your community and your country. The Canada 150 for 150 Volunteer Challenge is a nation-wide movement that aims to engage tens of thousands of Canadians to give 150 hours of volunteer time in 2017 in celebration of Canada's 150th Anniversary.

Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 is BC Family Day. This mid-winter holiday offers families, in all their diversity, the chance to spend some extra time together.

Here are some Family Day activities planned in our community:

Calling all social media fans! Be part of an online flash mob celebrating inclusion and diverse families! Participate in this viral campaign by sharing a photo or short video of your family using hashtag #WeAreALLFamily. Click here for more information.

On February 25th,  Sources will host the 4th annual 
Coldest Night of the Year walkathon fundraiser in White Rock - a fantastically fun, family-friendly 2, 5 and 10km walk happening in over 110 communities across Canada on the same night.

Take steps with us to prevent homelessness by WALKING and FUNDRAISING. Proceeds will support Sources'
 homelessness prevention services and Rent Bank.
Our goal: $70,000.
