Golf for a Good Cause
Semiahmoo Rotary Charity Golf Tournament

Registration is open for the Semiahmoo Rotary Club's 29th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, taking place at Morgan Creek Golf Course on June 21, 2018.

For the first time, funds raised will go to support Sources' Dolly Parton Imagination Library literacy program for children.  The local affiliate is operated by Sources Volunteer Services and currently serves 251 children in Surrey and White Rock.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Every month, children registered in the program receive a free, home-delivered, brand new book from birth until they turn 5 years old. The program aims to increase childhood literacy and reading skills. Although this is a "library," the child gets to keep the books!

WHAT OUR STAFF SAY
"Every child receives the same books to read so they can be ready at the same level when they enter kindergarten. The cost per child is $3.55 per month. A $25,000 donation could provide a monthly book for five years for an additional 100 children on our waiting list."  -- Carrie Belanger, Manager of Volunteer Services

We encourage you or your friends to come out and golf for a good course! You can register to play as an individual or as a team of four if you wish.

"Like A Rock" Gala Sets New Record

More than 250 rock stars gathered at the Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club on April 14 to "make some noise" and raise money for SOURCES! The 23rd Annual "Like A Rock" Fundraising Gala was a sold-out event (for the third year in a row!) and we raised in excess of $260,000--a new record! Many thanks to our Gala committee, Sources' Board of Directors, Gala Sponsors, Live and Silent Auction Donors, Volunteers, and Rock Star Guests - for making our Gala another success! ROCK ON! See more
Temperatures Dropped but Funds Were Raised
The Lower Mainland had a dump of snow the evening before the Coldest Night of the Year, but that didn't stop the White Rock community from walking on February 24! With support from more than 300 walkers, sponsors, donors and volunteers, we raised $75,000 for our Homelessness Prevention Services and Rent Bank. We were also the #1 fundraiser in the province! Thank you for helping us keep more people safe, warm and housed.  See photos
