Now Available: National Alumni Week Toolkit
This comprehensive toolkit has been crafted to empower local agencies to engage their alums and participate in Big Brothers Big Sisters National Alumni Week, taking place this National Mentoring Month, January 15 – 19, 2024.
Located in Brandfolder, this toolkit will help you find branded materials, social media and advertising assets, key activation moments, and a detailed one-pager providing an overview of the week's events. Additionally, the toolkit offers resources to support your initial approach and continued interactions with alumni during the week and beyond. We encourage all agencies to dive into the toolkit and join us in making National Alumni Week an extraordinary celebration of the power of mentorship.

Digital Billboard Series Featuring Select Game Changers Launches Nationwide for National Mentoring Month
As part of BBBSA’s partnership with Clear Channel Outdoor, one of the world’s largest out of home media providers, digital billboards spotlighting select Game Changers will launch this week, in celebration of National Mentoring Month. The Game Changers initiative unites the collective power of influential leaders and changemakers to help tackle key issues impacting youth today by creating awareness, access, and opportunity through mentorship. The inaugural group of Game Changers is comprised of prominent Black men who embody the transformative power of mentorship to address the representational gap in mentorship. Future groups of Game Changers will consist of leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences to reflect the many inspiring stories and journeys of the young people nationwide who need positive mentorship.

2023 Annual Self-Assessment: Now Open
The 2023 Annual Self-Assessment
opened on January 2, 2024, and will remain open until February 28, 2024.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Self-Assessment process is a system that each agency’s Board of Directors and CEOs/EDs use to ensure compliance with Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Standards of Practice and the Membership Affiliation Agreement (MAA). It includes an annual review of policies and procedures in both operations and programs; confirmation of completion of an annual financial audit; verification that a full-time, degreed Executive Director/CEO is in place to manage day-to-day operations; and assurance that the agency is current with insurance, fees, and annual reporting.
The 2023 Annual Self-Assessment is required to be completed by all agencies.

BBBSA will be hosting Capitol Hill Day in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. This free event will take place at the Watergate Hotel at 2650 Virginia Ave, NW, and on Capitol Hill. This will be an exciting opportunity for BBBS agencies and our external stakeholders to come together to learn about our organization’s federal policy priorities, strengthen relationships with their members of Congress, and build the advocacy capacity of the BBBS network.

An Inspiring Day of Remembrance and Mentorship
In honor of National Mentoring Month, we're sharing stories that showcase the inspirational power of mentorship and the positive impact it can have on both mentors and mentees.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida recently had two matches volunteer at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida. The matches were participating in “Wreaths Across America Day” and assisted by placing Christmas wreaths on headstones. It was an invaluable opportunity for our matches to learn about the sacrifices of our military heroes and the power of volunteering. It was more than a history lesson; it was a hands-on experience in understanding the value of community service and the importance of giving back, resonating deeply with what mentorship means to us.
