Respect in the Workplace
Respected workers perform better
Respect is fundamentally important in our working relationships. If you ask anyone what treatment they expect in their workplace, they will most likely say respect from management and co-workers. An organization’s culture provides the delineation for acceptable workplace behaviour and the culture is shaped by management’s commitment to building a respectful workplace. If management embraces and tolerates a culture of inappropriate behaviour (humiliation, intimidation, disparagement, hostility, etc.), it sets an adverse tone across the organization.
Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services
Help a family experience the magic of the season
Dixon Hall serves more than 10,000 people annually, impacting the lives of the most vulnerable and the most at-risk members of our community. They work with at-risk youth, seniors, adults with physical and health disabilities, people who need housing, individuals searching for employment, those with mental health issues, and newly immigrated individuals and their families.

Dixon Hall creates lasting solutions to end poverty, social injustices, and isolation in Toronto – so that everyone can thrive. Their work with supporting the precariously housed and the homeless population is ongoing and growing.

The holidays seem to remind us how fortunate many of us are – and that others are somewhat less fortunate. And so it’s at this time of year when we reach out to our partners, friends, and clients to ask for your help in bringing the clientele of a well-deserved ASSOCIUM GAIN member a Christmas.

We have names and ages of families with wish lists who could really use your generosity. Showing these parents and children that they are valued and not forgotten would make a world of difference.

If you would like to help a family experience the magic of the season – or simply one member of a family – please contact Jenn Poirier at jpoirier@associum.com.
Planned Giving
Charitable donations can be claimed in the current taxation year or can be carried forward and used in any of the subsequent five years
At any given point in time an individual may have charitable intentions. Taking the time to ensure your charitable gifts are aligned to your larger financial planning objectives while monitored and updated is the key to lifetime financial success. Having a clear picture of your options and associated tax rules will allow for complete integration of the charitable gifts into your comprehensive financial plan.
Ask the Pharmacist: Dry and Chapped Skin
What can be done to prevent dry skin?
As the temperature drops in the winter months, many of us will discover that our largest organ (our skin) may start to be noticeably dry. This can cause itching and visibly chapped skin on the face, lips or arms. Dry skin can decrease quality of life and increase anxiety for many when going out in public.
