Community Partner Spotlight
Family Promise of East Bell County
Family Promise of East Bell County works to empower families experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.
Family Promise graduated two families last month from their programs and they are now moving into their own homes. See their exciting stories below!
Meet Ramona, the first mother to be assisted by Family Promise’s new Diversion Initiative. While juggling two jobs and four children, Ramona found herself in a crisis situation before becoming homeless. The staff at Family Promise worked with Ramona, helping her find housing, furnishing her new home, and moving her family in after paying the deposit for her family’s new home.
“Family Promise has meant so much! All the staff were a huge blessing because they helped me every step of the way and took so much stress off of me and my kids. We were getting worried when things were getting bad, but now we have our own home!” said Ramona. “We can cook a real meal in our own kitchen, we can sleep in our own beds, and we can just be together on our own furniture. My youngest is sleeping through the night now, and that wasn’t happening before when we were homeless. In the past it was horrible; we were so stressed because of what was happening, and now things are so much better. I don’t know what would have happened without Family Promise.”

Family Promise had the pleasure of helping move one of the families in the Guest Program into their new home! During their time in the Guest Program at Family Promise they have worked hard securing employment and housing. While we are exceedingly happy for them, they are even happier to be in a home of their own, and not be homeless anymore. "It's truly a blessing", they said.
