Dear Members,
Following the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department on May 25, 2020, and the ensuing and ongoing world-wide protests against anti-Black racism, we have been in reflection as to how our organization might both better support our members and promote diversity.
We believe it is essential to first acknowledge that anti-Black racism is not exclusive to the United States, but a reality for many people both globally and within Canada. We recognize that we can no longer simply condemn anti-Black racism, or any other type of discrimination, but must actively challenge it whenever possible. On this front, we acknowledge our own shortcomings as an organization which currently has a disproportionate number of white Canadians in both our membership and leadership.
For this reason, Circle Craft is committed to the following:
1. To use the Circle Craft platform to elevate the voices of all of our members.
2. To increase the diversity within our membership, Board, and staff.
We know we can do better.
We encourage you to provide ideas around how we can construct a more open and inclusive space. Please login and post on your
