Thank you, Dr. Michelle King!

We honor the life & contributions of Dr. Michelle King - our student, our parent, our teacher, our principal, our administrator, our Superintendent. She served our community, believing that 100% graduation is possible with love, focus, courage and persistence. We are forever grateful.

Dr. King was always full of optimism and recognized that our students need L.A. Unified to be a system that learns and grows. She was often a voice that lifted the wellness of our children, embracing the whole-child approach to education. She was eager to serve the students and families of our community. Dr. King led with love and a leadership that was about including all voices. She was fearless in the fight for access and equity.

Her legacy will live on through those she impacted at L.A. Unified and beyond.

"Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month, an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their important role in U.S. history. The event was originally the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans."

Participating groups include LACMA , Los Angeles Public Library , California African American Museum , Hammer Museum and more!

United Friends of the Family hosts a College Resource Fair!

Long-time community organization that serves the foster youth community is hosting their annual resource fair "College Within Reach." Registration is still open!
