POS Service Providers and RRF Grant Applications
Last night, the Small Business Administration released the names of the point-of-sale (POS) service providers that can be utilized for Restaurant Revitalization Grant applications. It appears that only two (Square and Toast) will actually support the submission of an application, but all will provide knowledge support and gross receipts documentation (Square, Toast, Clover, and NCR/Aloha).
Once the SBA begins accepting applications, eligible restaurants can apply directly with their POS service providers. While each POS provider is helping differently – such as building pre-packaged point-of-sale documentation – all POS systems listed are helping restaurant owners with their application submission process.
While SBA encourages applicants to utilize the POS system, applicants without access to point-of-sale service providers can still submit their applications electronically at https://restaurants.sba.gov/
Shuttered Venue Operators Grant
Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program portal will reopen tomorrow, April 24th. The SBA will release updated guidance today, April 23rd. Please see SBA’s page on the SVOG for additional details.
Massachusetts Reopen
We continue to actively work for Massachusetts to continue to reopen. There are a number of outstanding issues that need to be addressed, including:
- Table size/90 Minute rule
- Ability to order alcohol without food
- Reopen the segments of our industry that remain closed
- Counter service
- Private events with a licensed caterer should be allowed to operate at the outdoor gathering threshold
- Indoor singing
- and many others,
Yesterday, Governor Baker said more would be discussed around reopening "before the end of the month". With more vaccinations happening daily, case counts decreasing, and three of our neighboring states already announcing plans to further reopen, Massachusetts operators, customers and employees eagerly await.
