During its quietest and most enchanting season, Amador County reveals a different kind of magic. Crisp winter air, uncrowded roads, and a gentler pace make it the perfect time to reset, recharge, and rediscover what brings you joy. Nestled in the heart of the Mother Lode, this is a place where there’s finally room to breathe.

For January 2026, we’re doing things a little differently. New Year, New Experiences (NYNE) is a month-long celebration of wellness, learning, creativity, and community—happening throughout Amador County.

An immersive Zinfandel-focused wine and food pairing experience that celebrates the depth, history, and versatility of this iconic varietal.

This guided tasting features four distinct Zinfandels from the Amador region, showcasing both heritage vines over 100 years old and newer plantings, offering a rare opportunity to explore how vine age and site expression shape the character of the wine.

Wine Blending Class, La Mesa Vineyards

Join owner-winemaker Côme and longtime La Mesa club member Chris Cornish for a fun wine blending class. Participants are organized into two teams that will "compete" to make a winning recipe for our upcoming flagship red wine blend, Charactère.

Step into the shadows of Amador County’s past for an unforgettable evening of history, mystery, and wine.

Featuring Marcie Canale — Marcie is a longtime paranormal docent at Preston Castle and the Kennedy Gold Mine, where her work centers on historical research, preservation, and the thoughtful exploration of reported paranormal activity.

By candlelight and with a flight of La Mesa wine, guests will explore lesser-known stories and reported encounters tied to some of Amador County’s most historic locations.
