Trinity Sunday
June 7, 2020
"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.
We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

Donna Brown
Donna was born and raised in Indianapolis, but moved to Florida after high school until she "retired" to Cleveland, Georgia in 2008. Her professional career was spent in the cruise, yachting and hotel industries as an executive assistant to the owner or CEO. Once in Georgia, she has worked part time in order to volunteer at the White County Food Pantry, served as treasurer of her church and treasurer of the Georgia Paso Fino Horse Association. Her two Paso Fino horses are her passion and she trail rides and rides in local parades. Donna has a daughter, son-in-law, and two beautiful grandkids (6 & 2) that live in Sugar Hill.
Welcome, Donna!

Women's Bible Study
1st & 3rd Thursdays
TONIGHT
The Women's Bible Study Group is reading The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. We are meeting on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays in the Resurrection parking lot at 5:30 p.m.
All ladies are welcome to join us! If you have any questions, please contact Denise Dorsey (706-969-0514, ddorsey1731@gmail.com).
Her name is Dinah. In the Bible, her life is only hinted at in a brief and violent detour within the more familiar chapters of the Book of Genesis that tell of her father, Jacob, and his twelve sons.
Told in Dinah's voice, Anita Diamant imagines the traditions and turmoils of ancient womanhood--the world of the red tent. It begins with the story of the mothers--Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah--the four wives of Jacob. They love Dinah and give her gifts that sustain her through childhood, a calling to midwifery, and a new home in a foreign land. Dinah's story reaches out from a remarkable period of early history and creates an intimate connection with the past.
Deeply affecting, The Red Tent combines rich storytelling with a valuable achievement in modern fiction: a new view of biblical women's lives.

Thank you for being grateful, responsible stewards of the gifts we receive from God.
What a blessing and honor to be stewards of what God has given to us!
Thank you for supporting our ministry and mission at Resurrection and allowing Resurrection members to be beacons of light in our parish and out in the community. No matter what amount you give to Resurrection, your gift makes a difference in the ministry and mission we do. As part of your spiritual discipline, we hope you will make sure to joyfully make your offering so we can continue to shine our light in the parish and in our community.
Thank you for being a blessing!

Holy and Mighty God, God for us, God with us, God in us, by your presence we need not struggle for answers to the questions of the day. Through the life of Jesus, we know the way. Give us courage to step out as he did and assist in his healing work in our community, in our state, and in our world. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for the church in every land and in every circumstance. Give us courage, wisdom, and love to live out our Baptismal Covenant in these days of fear and anguish. We ask your continuing blessings on our presiding bishop Michael Curry, our bishop Robert Wright, our assisting bishop Don Wimberly, our retired bishop Neil Alexander, and our priests, Scott and Sue. Bless Brandon, Mallory, Fletcher, and Finley as they begin this new chapter in their lives at Virginia Theological Seminary this summer. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
Almighty God, we pray for our president Donald, for the leaders of the nations, and for all in authority, that they may compassionately work for justice and peace. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for all members of our armed services, protect and defend our troops in deployments in combat zones. Pray for Reyna Cruz, Jamie Davey, Jordan Davey, Brett Turner, Jennifer Parrish, Bart Ziccardi, Robert Rish, Kayla Ziccardi, Frank Caruccio, Joseph Lorenz, Wayne Lovell, Jessica Stephens, Mitchell Stephens, Brandon Richards, Drew Camp, and Jason Gregoryk. Guide, guard, and protect all law enforcement and first responders including Don Scalia. Please cover all health care workers with your blessings of protection and strength as they work to save lives, including Dr. William Koeppel, Marika Csatary, JM Kidd, Chloe Gedney, Jackie Hayes, Dr. Barbara Camp, Roxanne Hall, Susie Murray, Susan Smith, and Candler Kimsey. These brave people need our prayerful support. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
Lord, God our healer, we pray for health and healing for all creation. Keep us steadfast in prayer and action to choose life in every situation. Protect all frontline essential workers as they bravely go about their duties. We pray for them and for the sick, the lonely, and their caregivers. Let them experience health and wholeness in your healing presence. Pray for Carol, Helen, Kelly, Bob, Lloyd, Stephen, Gil, Jennifer, Kevin, Jackie, Kelli, Luci, Sharon, Billy, Helen, Genny, Gordon, Jon, Opal, Glenda, Diane, Chris, David, Charlene, Scott, Genie, and Kathleen. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
Most holy God, we pray for Hannah Kidd Kogel as she awaits the birth of her child. We pray for newborns, infants, and children of all ages. Protect them from every danger and sickness. Restore all children separated from their families. In this time shield all children with safety, love, and peace.Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
Compassionate God, comfort all who mourn for loved ones lost to sickness, accidents, and injustice. As we recognize our own fragility, help us to realize and celebrate the sacredness of every life. Pray for the family of Nancy Lambdin, George Floyd, and all who mourn at this time. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
God our help in ages past, help us this week to direct our thoughts, words, and actions so we may experience your cleansing, healing, and reconciliation in our hearts, homes, and lives. Give us courage and love to do our part. Holy Lord, hear our prayer.
Gracious God, we are joyful and thankful for these among us celebrating birthdays including ,Dottie Bardenwerper, Chrissy Greer, Brandi Cash, and Carol Prescott, and those celebrating anniversaries, including Cynthia & Paul Kimball.
