Greetings!

Trinity Sunday invites us to stand in awe before the mystery of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Coming right after Easter and Pentecost, this feast reminds us that God is not distant or abstract.

The Trinity is not a puzzle to solve but a mystery to trust. God reveals Himself as one divine life shared by three persons: the Father who loves, the Son who is Love made flesh, and the Holy Spirit who pours that love into our hearts. Every glimpse of beauty, every act of mercy, every moment of grace flows from this divine relationship.

The readings for Trinity Sunday proclaim the depth of God’s love. The Father sends His Son not because we deserve it, but because His love is boundless. Jesus opens the way to eternal life through His life, death, and resurrection. The Holy Spirit remains with us, guiding, strengthening, and reminding us that we belong to God.

This feast also calls us to reflect that love outward. The grace we receive is meant to be shared through kindness, patience, forgiveness, and compassion. As we live in the Spirit, we become signs of God’s unity and peace in the world. We are invited to reflect God’s life by offering our time in service, our talent in generosity, and our treasure in joyful giving.

As we live this out each day, we become signs of God’s unity and love in the world. Trinity Sunday reminds us that we are not only loved by God, but sent to share that love in all we are and all we have.

Last Saturday, after Mass, the Steers family rejoiced with overflowing joy as Levi, Crosby, and Zoey were welcomed into the Church through the Sacrament of Baptism. It was a truly joyful and grace-filled celebration as these children were welcomed into our Catholic family and made members of His Body. With hearts full of joy, we give thanks to God for this beautiful moment and pray that they and their family will always walk in the light and love of the Lord.

We want to hear from you!

Catholic Funeral Mass Planning Workshop Invitation

Our parish invites you to join us for a thoughtful and faith-filled workshop on Catholic Funeral Planning.

This is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on and make personal decisions about your Funeral Mass. You will learn more about selecting readings, choosing music that speaks to your faith, and considering the elements that can bring comfort and hope to your loved ones.

Father Bill, Betsy Taylor, and Irene Jones will guide us through the choices that you or your family may be asked to make, offering insight into the beauty and traditions of the Church’s funeral rites.

Please note, this workshop is purely informational and pastoral in nature; it is not a legal presentation or a sales event.

Come, take some time to prepare with peace of mind and a deeper understanding of our Catholic traditions.

All are welcome.

Family and friends are welcome.

The Beatitudes: God’s Roadmap to Everlasting Joy

The word “beatitude” originates from the Latin beatus, meaning “blessed” or “happy,” and beatitude, which translates to “blessedness” or “state of happiness.”

The Beatitudes, found in Matthew 5:3-10, were delivered by Jesus during the Sermon on the Mount. During the hardship and oppression of Roman occupation, Jesus introduced the Beatitudes as a new way of living—focused on humility, mercy, and righteousness rather than wealth, vengeance, and social status. If the Commandments show us the “do nots,” the Beatitudes teach us what to “do” to follow God’s will and embrace His grace. Check out the Catechism of the Catholic Church reference in CCC 1716-1729.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

This Beatitude is not limited to grieving over physical loss but includes sorrow for sin and the world’s brokenness. It invites deep conversion and compassion, moved by realizing how sin hurts God and others. God quickly reaches out to those needing comfort, and His grace is readily available through the sacraments. Forgiving a family member who has wronged us or seeking forgiveness can embody this Beatitude.

Opportunities to Contribute:

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.

Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.
