Greetings!
The Fourth Sunday of Lent invites us to see with the eyes of faith. God looks beyond appearances and into the heart, bringing light where there is darkness and hope where there is blindness. Jesus, the Light of the World, heals not only physical sight but also our spiritual vision, opening our eyes to God’s truth and love.
God’s choice of David reminds us that inner goodness matters more than status or appearance. In the healing of the man born blind, we see a powerful journey from darkness to faith—a reminder that our weaknesses are not punishments, but opportunities for God’s grace to shine. As children of the light, we are called to live with courage, trust God’s ways, and stand firm in our faith. When we encounter Christ, we are transformed, learning to see ourselves and others as God does—with hope, compassion, and love.

Join us for our third Stations of the Cross and
Soup Supper tonight Thursday, March 12th.
As we continue our journey through Lent, we will begin in the quiet reverence of the church, walking with Christ through the Stations of the Cross and entering more deeply into the mystery of His suffering, compassion, and love. Afterward, we will gather in Rossman Hall to share a simple soup supper with our fellow parishioners. With only two more soup supper remaining this season, we are grateful for the time we still have to come together in community. This evening is lovingly supported by our Knights of Columbus.
All are warmly welcomed to enter into prayer, reflection, and fellowship as we walk together through this sacred season. May this gathering enrich your 40‑day pilgrimage, draw your heart closer to Christ, and open your soul to the grace and renewal God desires for you during Lent.

Serve as He served.
On Holy Thursday, we will enter the heart of Christ’s command:
to wash one another’s feet in humility, love, and service.
To make this sacred moment possible,
we are praying for three volunteers who are willing to step forward
with the same spirit Jesus showed in the Upper Room.
Will you help us?
Will you offer your hands, your presence, your “yes,”
so that our parish can live this beautiful act of love?

We welcome you to Friday Mass at 8:30am for Lent.
Attending daily Mass during Lent offers a beautiful way to deepen our spiritual life and draw closer to the Eucharist. In the quiet rhythm of these 40 days, we receive the grace and strength needed to face daily temptations and remain rooted in Christ. By gathering in prayer and worship each day, we open our hearts more fully to God’s will and allow Him to shape us. In this way, Lent becomes not just a season of sacrifice, but a transformative journey toward deeper union with Christ—the true purpose of our Lenten walk.

Purple Envelopes to Facilitate Almsgiving
Throughout our Lenten journey, Jesus is calling us to engage in the traditional practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. In order to facilitate almsgiving among the members of our faith community, the parish is providing "purple envelopes" which will be available in the pews during this holy season. I ask that each person take a purple envelope home. Reflect on what the Lord is calling you to give in support of the works of this parish. Then return the envelope and place it in the collection basket.
Thank you in advance for whatever you choose to give in accordance with the inspiration given you by the Holy Spirit.
Fr. Bill

We are overflowing with gratitude for all you amazing angels who poured your time, talents, and treasure into making the teen retreat unforgettable! Because of you, our teens enjoyed a weekend filled with laughter, fellowship, and meaningful conversations about the Holy Spirit—and how to boldly follow His call in their everyday lives.
There were moments of quiet reflection, moments of deep discussion, and plenty of moments that were just plain fun—from card games to campfires to the kind of joy that only comes from being surrounded by a loving community.
Thanks to your support, the teens didn’t just have a good time… they had a soul-filling, heartwarming, faith-building experience they’ll carry with them long after the retreat is over.
We couldn’t have done it without you!

Do you know about our Bridge Group?
Bridge is our faith‑formation group for children in 5th and 6th grade. The name is intentional—this ministry focuses on bridging connections within our parish community:
- Parish to community
- Generation to generation
Throughout the year, Bridge students participate in activities designed to help them grow in faith while learning how to share Christ’s love with others.
Bridge Group's Current Service Activity:
Visiting Brookdale River Valley
One of the Bridge group’s ongoing acts of service is visiting the Brookdale River Valley Senior Living Facility in Tualatin.
During these visits:
-
Students are invited to bring a short prayer intention to be included in the communion service.
-
After the service, the children spend time visiting with the residents, offering companionship and joy.
-
The entire visit lasts about one hour.

It’s that time of year when Mary’s Cousins Prayer Shawl Ministry begins knitting and crocheting baby blankets for donation to local charities. We would be grateful for any donations of soft, acrylic baby yarn in pastel colors. Lion Brand Pound of Love can often be found at Michaels, frequently on sale or available with a coupon.
If you knit or crochet, please consider helping us create these warm blankets. If you’re interested in learning how to knit or crochet, or would simply enjoy some companionship while working on these projects, join us on Tuesdays from Noon to 2:00 PM in the Fireside Room.
Donations of supplies may be dropped off at the office during business hours. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Hamel at 503‑656‑2437.
Thank you for sharing your time, talents, and treasures.

Prayer for Help Us Build Communities in God's Vision of Justice
Holy Spirit,
We praise and thank you!
You anoint us to
bring glad tidings to the poor
proclaim liberty to captives
recover sight for the blind
free the oppressed
and build communities in keeping
with God's vision of justice.
Show us how to be
light of the world
salt of the earth
seeds that sprout love
and leaven that infuses humanity
with the desire to promote
human dignity and solidarity.
Help us to listen so that
those in poverty can lead our efforts to
proclaim a more hopeful vision
liberate captives from injustice
heal the blindness of the powerful
free us all from self-centeredness
and build community to overcome poverty.
Amen.

QCD
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
RMD
Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.
Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.
Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.
Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.
Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning
Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.
We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting
Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School
with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
