Greetings!

On the 3rd Sunday of Easter, we celebrate how the Risen Jesus restores hope and opens our hearts to God’s plan. This week’s readings invite us to hold on to hope, especially when fear creeps in.

Like the disciples on the road, we may wonder if we can go on without Jesus or if He is far away.

But He is close. He is faithful. He is Risen.

True hope is choosing to trust Jesus, again knowing we need Him, and He is near. Even when we don’t feel it, we are called to pray and remain faithful.

We are called to make room for Him: stay close to His Word, come to Mass or Adoration if you can, and share His Hope with someone who needs it.

Livestream the Mass on Sunday at 11:00am on our Facebook page.

Parish News & Events:

What does it mean to be a Stewardship Parish?

The Four Pillars of Stewardship

Hospitality - Christian Kindness

'When I was a stranger, you welcomed me.' Matthew 25:35

Jesus Christ teaches that whenever we welcome one of the least of our sisters and brothers, we welcome Christ Himself. Parishioners of a stewardship parish

see the face of Christ in one another. A stewardship parish is a welcoming parish regardless of the parish demographics: large or small - urban, suburban, or rural.

Prayer - A Heart to Heart with God

'Prayer is as necessary to our souls as food is to our bodies.' from Characteristics of a Christian Steward.

Prayer and the sacraments dispose a soul to receive God's abundant graces,

which are necessary to grow in holiness. It is through prayer that we

nurture our personal relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Formation - Continuous Conversion

'Being a disciple is not just something else to do, alongside many other things

suitable for Christians, it is a total way of life and requires continuing conversion.'

from USCCB's Stewardship a Disciple's Response - Pastoral Letter on Stewardship

Formation is a formidable task, involving education for the mind and conversion of the heart. To know the "stewardship way of life", does not make one live a "stewardship way of life." Ongoing Catholic education is important if we are to grow in our lives as stewards.

Service - Love in Action

'...Amen I say to you, whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40

Members of a stewardship parish are ready to minister to the varied needs of their own parish family as well as the needs of the wider community and Church.

Just as the members of a family come together to help one of their own,

a stewardship parish family serves those who are hurting or in need, doubting or seeking salvation. The parish family also comes together to celebrate, thank, and return God's gifts.

The Faith Formation group was deeply touched to receive a beautiful, handcrafted and lovingly painted Noah’s Ark from Linda Berning. This thoughtful gift will bring so much joy to our children as they learn and play. We are truly grateful for Linda’s generosity and care in creating such a meaningful gift for our parish. Thank you for sharing your talent and love with our community.

Purple Envelopes to Facilitate Almsgiving

Throughout our Lenten journey, Jesus is calling us to engage in the traditional practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. In order to facilitate almsgiving among the members of our faith community, the parish is providing "purple envelopes" which will be available in the pews during this holy season. I ask that each person take a purple envelope home. Reflect on what the Lord is calling you to give in support of the works of this parish. Then return the envelope and place it in the collection basket.

Thank you in advance for whatever you choose to give in accordance with the inspiration given you by the Holy Spirit.

Ministry Information:

You’re invited to make a difference!

You, your family, and friends are invited to volunteer with RCP’s Ministry as we come together to help build Peace and Justice in our community. On National Rebuild Day, Saturday, April 25, 2026, our Resurrection team (now in its 14th year!) will spend a whole or half day helping a senior homeowner safely age in place.

This year, we’ll be working together to help our homeowner clean up his yard while building community and connection along the way. There will be a variety of tasks available, so you can choose a role that fits your strengths, abilities, and interests.

Transportation assistance is available if you need a ride.

To learn more about the nonprofit agency Rebuilding Together Pacific Northwest (RTPNW)—formerly Rebuilding Together Portland and Rebuilding Together Washington County—and its year‑round programs supporting qualified residents, visit https://www.rtpnw.org/.

We hope you’ll join us for a meaningful and rewarding day of service!

Opportunities to Contribute:

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.

Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.

Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.

We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting

Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School

with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
