Greetings!

The 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time calls us to love with courage, speak truth with kindness, and help one another grow closer to God.

Ezekiel reminds us that love brings responsibility. We are called to care enough to speak when someone is headed toward harm.

Psalm 95 invites us to praise God with grateful hearts and listen to His voice. True worship is shown in faithful obedience.

Paul teaches that love fulfills every commandment. Genuine love protects, restores, and guides others toward what is right.

Jesus calls us to correct one another with humility and compassion. The goal is always reconciliation, not shame. Honest, loving relationships help shape our character.

He also entrusts the Church with guiding hearts back to truth. Repentance means examining not only our actions but also the attitudes that lead to them. Authority is strongest when joined with humility.

Finally, Jesus promises His presence wherever people gather in His name. Community becomes the place where love, truth, and God’s grace meet.

This Sunday reminds us: love speaks, love listens, love reconciles, and Christ is with us whenever we choose unity.

Preprinted Envelopes

If you are still receiving donation envelopes but no longer need them, or if you now give by check, QCD, RMD, or through WeShare, we would be very grateful if you would let us know so we can discontinue sending them. Doing so helps our parish be good stewards of our resources while still keeping an accurate record of your generous support. Thank you for your kindness and for all you do for our church community. If you would like to stop receiving envelopes, please email Sue Johnson by clicking the button below or sending an email to sjohnson@rcparish.org.

Callum Young Baptism

This past weekend was a truly meaningful occasion as Callum Young was baptized, surrounded by the love of family and friends. As we gathered to celebrate this sacred moment, we joyfully welcomed Callum into our faith family. May his baptism serve as a lasting reminder of God's unfailing love and the bright path of faith that lies ahead.

Henry & Claire LaViolette's Baptisms

We celebrated the baptism of Henry and Claire LaViolette on August 1, 2026. Pictured with their godparents, Conor and Melora Hartman, these photos commemorate a blessed and memorable day in the life of their family and faith community.

Mass and Parish Picnic in the Park

Perfect weather, prayer, great food, and wonderful people...our annual Resurrection Mass and Picnic at Willamette Park had it all!

We were blessed with perfect weather as parishioners gathered for a joyful day of worship and community. The Knights of Columbus were our grill masters once again, serving up hamburgers and hot dogs with generosity and smiles. Meanwhile, the kids made the most of the splash pads, creating plenty of happy memories.

The real feast, however, came from the amazing side dishes and desserts shared by our parish family. From favorite family recipes to sweet treats, every contribution helped make the picnic a delicious success.

A heartfelt thank you to the Knights of Columbus, Marcus, the musicians, and the choir, and everyone who came out to celebrate. Thank you for making the day so special. See you next year for more fun, fellowship, and fantastic food!

If it’s easier for you, simply send the parish office an email and we’ll be happy to send you a registration form and help you get signed up. Click below.

Faith Formation: Growing as Disciples at Every Age:

What is Faith Formation? Faith Formation is a lifelong journey of growing in relationship with Jesus Christ and living as members of His Church. It is a whole-person approach that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and communal dimensions of faith at every stage of life.

New Donation Envelopes

In this month’s donation envelope packet, you will notice that the Hand in Hand and Dream Big envelopes have been combined into a single fund. There is no need to make any changes to your giving. Because both funds support the same ministry and outreach efforts, combining them simplifies our donation process while continuing to support these important programs.

We are deeply grateful for your generosity and the many ways these contributions help serve others through the ministries of Resurrection. Thank you for your continued support, which makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our parish community and beyond.

Resurrection Catholic Parish School News:

There are two meaningful ways to give to our school:

• Endowment Fund – Contribute to our new endowment, blessed with matching gifts of up to $65,000, helping secure the future of Catholic education for generations to come. Your gift to the Endowment helps support the corpus of education. The income earned will help Resurrection School offer more tuition assistance, as well as do necessary improvements throughout the years. This is an investment that will support our school for years to come.

• School Support – Your gift directly extends tuition assistance, opening our doors wider to families in need.

Opportunities to Contribute:

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.

Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.

Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.

We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting

Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School

with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.

Universal Church Appeal Collection

Beginning in 2026, the Archdiocese of Portland is introducing the Universal Church Appeal, a streamlined approach that replaces more than 15 individual national

second collections with one unified annual appeal.

Through one simple, primarily digital giving opportunity, parishioners can support multiple domestic and international Church ministries, including Catholic Relief Services, Peter’s Pence, and World Missions. Gifts are passed through in full according to each donor’s designation.

There are QR-coded cards on the welcome table.
