Greetings!

In the twenty fourth week of Ordinary Time, we are reminded that forgiveness is hard, but it is the path to freedom. This Sunday reminds us that anger and resentment only wound the heart, while mercy heals. God’s compassion is patient and generous, and He invites us to mirror that same mercy in our relationships.

We are reminded that life is short, and grudges steal peace. We belong to the Lord, and our lives should reflect His love, choosing unity over judgment, compassion over condemnation. Forgiveness is not a feeling but a daily decision to let go, to understand the suffering of others, and to trust God’s grace more than our hurt.

Jesus’ parable shows that mercy received must become mercy given. God forgives us with tenderness, placing our sins far away from us. In return, He asks us to forgive from the heart, without keeping score, without clinging to old wounds.

To forgive is to grow in grace. It is to bless the Lord for His kindness and to let His mercy reshape our hearts.

Thank You for Making Phase 2 of the Rossman Hall Improvements Possible!

The Resurrection community is truly blessed by the generosity and commitment of our parishioners. Thanks to the incredible support of so many, including a parish family who anonymously made a significant contribution to help us reach our goal, we have successfully funded Phase 2 of the Rossman Hall improvements. We are excited to announce that the air conditioning project is moving forward!

This achievement is a wonderful reflection of the spirit of stewardship that thrives within our parish. Through your generosity and dedication, Rossman Hall will continue to be an even more welcoming and comfortable gathering place for our faith community for years to come. Thank you to everyone who helped make this important project a reality.

As a first step, work has already begun with the removal of two trees near Rossman Hall in preparation for the project.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has shared their time, talent, and treasure to help bring this vision to life. Your generosity and dedication continue to strengthen our parish and create a welcoming space for our community to gather, celebrate, and grow in faith together.

In the coming weeks, we look forward to sharing details about Phase 3 of the Rossman Hall repairs and improvements. Until then, please accept our heartfelt thanks for helping us reach this important milestone. This achievement would not have been possible without your support of time, talent, and treasure.

Thank you for being such a faithful and generous part of the Resurrection family.

Preprinted Envelopes

If you are still receiving donation envelopes but no longer need them, or if you now give by check, QCD, RMD, or through WeShare, we would be very grateful if you would let us know so we can discontinue sending them. Doing so helps our parish be good stewards of our resources while still keeping an accurate record of your generous support. Thank you for your kindness and for all you do for our church community. If you would like to stop receiving envelopes, please email Sue Johnson by clicking the button below or sending an email to sjohnson@rcparish.org.

New Speakers in Rossman Hall

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of a parishioner, Rossman Hall now has new speakers. This thoughtful gift will make a meaningful difference, helping all who use the hall hear more clearly and fully enjoy parish events and gatherings. We are truly blessed by such kindness and are profoundly grateful for the sharing of time, talent, and treasure that strengthens our parish family.

Faith Formation: Growing as Disciples at Every Age:

What is Faith Formation? Faith Formation is a lifelong journey of growing in relationship with Jesus Christ and living as members of His Church. It is a whole-person approach that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and communal dimensions of faith at every stage of life.

New Donation Envelopes

In this month’s donation envelope packet, you will notice that the Hand in Hand and Dream Big envelopes have been combined into a single fund. There is no need to make any changes to your giving. Because both funds support the same ministry and outreach efforts, combining them simplifies our donation process while continuing to support these important programs.

We are deeply grateful for your generosity and the many ways these contributions help serve others through the ministries of Resurrection. Thank you for your continued support, which makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our parish community and beyond.

Resurrection Catholic Parish School News:

There are two meaningful ways to give to our school:

• Endowment Fund – Contribute to our new endowment, blessed with matching gifts of up to $65,000, helping secure the future of Catholic education for generations to come. Your gift to the Endowment helps support the corpus of education. The income earned will help Resurrection School offer more tuition assistance, as well as do necessary improvements throughout the years. This is an investment that will support our school for years to come.

• School Support – Your gift directly extends tuition assistance, opening our doors wider to families in need.

Opportunities to Contribute:

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.

Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.

Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.

We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting

Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School

with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.

Universal Church Appeal Collection

Beginning in 2026, the Archdiocese of Portland is introducing the Universal Church Appeal, a streamlined approach that replaces more than 15 individual national

second collections with one unified annual appeal.

Through one simple, primarily digital giving opportunity, parishioners can support multiple domestic and international Church ministries, including Catholic Relief Services, Peter’s Pence, and World Missions. Gifts are passed through in full according to each donor’s designation.

There are QR-coded cards on the welcome table.
