Hello Business,
In this week’s readings St. Paul tells the Ephesians that God chooses people based on their abilities. We need to understand that no matter how ordinary we see ourselves or how we are seen in the eyes of others, God made us and sees us as special. It is by God’s grace that we are special; we are to respect and value this work of grace in ourselves by the choices we make every day. These include the choices about how we choose to live. This comes with the additional knowledge of “so that we might exist for the praise of his glory, we who first hoped in Christ.”

A few months ago, Pope Francis asked all Catholics to read the Constitutions, Documents and Decrees that came out of Vatican II, and then to see how we are doing living those ideas, concepts and inspirations. This request was to pave the way for our parishes to enter into a year of prayer and meditation to prepare our hearts for the Year of Jubilee in 2025.
As a staff we each took different Vatican II articles to read and present to one another and then talk about on retreat. We spent the day together on Wednesday doing just that. It was rich! We will continue this conversation as we continue to regularly meet, pray and grow in faith together.
We found the books by Bill Huebsch to be especially rich and helpful (Three volumes called, “Vatican II in Plain English: The Council, The Constitutions, The Decrees and Declarations) if you would like to join us in this focus, please use these resources as well as watch this excellent documentary to familiarize yourself about the amazing Holy Spirit inspired Vatican II!
Walking the Path of Discipleship together!

Mary Katsilometes, our parish iconographer, continues her holy ministry of writing icons for Resurrection Catholic Parish. Recently, she completed 14 Stations of the Cross for our parish community. This endeavor took her two years to complete. She gave these icons to the church freely.
In Sacred Scripture, we read that a worker deserves to be paid (Luke 10:7). Throughout Lent our parishioners generously contributed to Mary’s support to assist her in continuing to write icons for us. As shown in this picture, Mary is now writing our new processional cross which will be consistent with our large icons of the Crucifixion and Resurrection. To complete this work, Mary relies on the support of our parish to meet her living expenses. I invite you to continue assisting Mary by contributing to our Icon fund on the parish Resurrection Icon website or you may write a check, note “Icons” on the memo line, and place it in the collection.
Thank you for all that you do in supporting our parish ministries.
May God bless you in many ways.
Fr. Bill

Upper Parking Lot Announcement
Part of the upper parking lot (behind Rossman Hall and in front of the office) will be paved the week of July 8th- 12th. During the week, there will not be any parking in the upper lot area. For Masses on the weekend of the 13th and 14th, there will be a small number of parking spaces available in the upper parking lot with limited egress. We strongly encourage the use of the lower parking lot, using the drop off area and the elevator for easy access to the Church.
The upper parking lot will be open to all parking on July 15th.
Thank you for your consideration and patience during this project.

Attention to ministries that submitted Hand in Hand requests for the fiscal year 2024-2025:
Your requests have been approved as requested.
Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, Hand In Hand will be able to assist seven groups this year. Bethlehem Women’s Co-Op, Celebrate Life, EDGE Service Project, Life Teen, Peace & Justice, Prayer Shawl and Quilting are all the recipients of 2024-2025 Hand In Hand’s support. These are all active ministries at Resurrection Catholic Parish.
The results of these disbursements help the ministries in areas such as: diaper drive, community outreach, Love in Action, Family Promise, summer mission week, meals at St. Andre Bisset, prayer shawls, winter hats, blankets for babies, infant Baptismal shawls, supporting foster children, local care facilities and other good neighbor deeds. Thank you so much for the loving support you have provided.
If you are looking to join or help these groups, please contact the ministry leads. The emails for these leads can be found on our website www.rcparish.org.

Those of us who live in West Linn and Tualatin are aware that we live in affluent communities. However, we may not be aware that in 2022 - 3.3% of West Linn families and 9.5% of Tualatin families were living below the poverty line. Resurrection's Saint Vincent de Paul Conference assists some of these families by helping to pay their rent and utilities and delivering needed food to them.
In June, we delivered food to 10 families, 47 people. Our pantry
could use canned stew and green beans this week.
Thank you for your continued support of our mission.

QCD
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
RMD
Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you reach age 72.
If you are over 72 years of age you qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.
Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.
We thank you in advance for considering Resurrection Catholic Church and School as recipients of your donations.
