Greetings!
Pentecost reveals the heart of the Church. Before the Spirit came, the disciples hid in fear; after Pentecost, they stepped out with courage, carrying Christ’s message to the world. We receive the Holy Spirit, the gift that leads us into true freedom.
The Spirit arrives with wind and fire, enabling the disciples to speak in many languages so that all can hear the same good news. Pentecost shows that the Spirit brings unity without making us uniform, many cultures, one Gospel, one mission.
Paul reminds us that the Spirit works through each of us in a unique way, not for ourselves but for the good of the whole Church. In John’s Gospel, the risen Jesus breathes His Spirit upon the disciples and sends them forth with peace, forgiveness, and purpose.
Like water poured out at Sinai, the Spirit is given freely. Jesus invites all who thirst to come, believe, and receive. Pentecost calls us to remember that we are a Spirit‑filled people, sent to carry Christ’s love into the world with courage and joy.

To celebrate Pentecost, we warmly invite everyone to wear red
as a joyful sign of the Spirit’s presence among us.

Are there children in your life?
We mean your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren—or any young people you care about and are invested in their education and faith.
We are gathering feedback to better understand how our parish can support:
Catholic School Experience
Faith Formation for Children & Families
We are especially looking for your thoughts on children’s faith formation, participation, and program options.
Please take a few moments to share your feedback—your voice truly matters.
Who should participate?
• Parishioners with children at home, in public schools, in other private schools
• Parents of students (current or prospective)
• Families interested in Catholic education or formation
Together, we can build a stronger future for our children’s faith. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
| If you are still receiving donation envelopes but no longer need them, or if you now give by check or through WeShare, we would be very grateful if you would let us know so we can discontinue sending them. Doing so helps our parish be good stewards of our resources while still keeping an accurate record of your generous support. Thank you for your kindness and for all you do for our church community. If you would like to stop receiving envelopes, please email Sue Johnson by clicking the link below or sending an email to sjohnson@rcparish.org. | Our Faith Formation children ended the year with a bang! | |
From fun games to making Resurrection Donuts, it was a joyful last day celebrating
all we learned this year. We are so thankful for all of our families, volunteers, and students, and we can’t wait to see everyone again next year!

May invites us to honor our Mother Mary. As spring blossoms, we’re reminded of the new life she welcomed into the world through Jesus.
In the 18th century, Jesuit Father Latomia helped spark May devotion to Mary—a tradition that quickly spread across the Church. The school celebrated with a May Crowning, placing a crown of flowers on Mary to honor her as Queen of Heaven and Earth. We as Catholics turn to Mary as spiritual mother and faithful intercessor, trusting her to bring our prayers to Jesus.
Ways to honor Mary this May:
· Pray daily—add a Hail Mary, a Marian prayer, or one decade of the Rosary, and ask Mary to intercede for you.
· Reflect—read a short Marian passage or a chapter from a book about Mary as a prayer.
· Garden—plant a simple “Mary Garden” with a statue or image of Mary and flowers associated with her.
· Create—make something in her honor (art, a floral crown, a handmade gift) or host a simple May Crowning at home.
· Study—meet Mary in Scripture and notice her faith, humility, and courage.
· Celebrate—share a Marian-themed meal or dessert that reminds your family of her queenship.
· Practice charity—choose a feast day in May and offer a concrete act of kindness, praying for those in need.

The Beatitudes: God’s Roadmap to Everlasting Joy
The word “beatitude” originates from the Latin beatus, meaning “blessed” or “happy,” and beatitude, which translates to “blessedness” or “state of happiness.”
The Beatitudes, found in Matthew 5:3-10, were delivered by Jesus during the Sermon on the Mount. During the hardship and oppression of Roman occupation, Jesus introduced the Beatitudes as a new way of living—focused on humility, mercy, and righteousness rather than wealth, vengeance, and social status. If the Commandments show us the “do nots,” the Beatitudes teach us what to “do” to follow God’s will and embrace His grace. Check out the Catechism of the Catholic Church reference in CCC 1716-1729
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Being “poor in spirit” means recognizing our dependence on God rather than solely on material possessions or achievements. It is a call to humility and gratefulness for God’s gifts. A practical example is living the stewardship way of life by selflessly giving time, talent, and treasure to help others.
The Beatitudes are the roadmap for spiritual growth, teaching us to live with humility, seek holiness, and show mercy and peace. Together, they guide us to a life deeply blessed with the promise of everlasting joy.

QCD
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
RMD
Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.
Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.
Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.
Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.
Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting
Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School
with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
