Greetings!
The Baptism of the Lord reveals the heart of Jesus’ mission and the fullness of God’s saving plan. In the first reading, we see Him as the chosen servant—delighting the Father, bringing justice, peace, and hope to the nations. In the second reading, we witness His anointing with the Holy Spirit and power, sent to heal, restore, and set free.
In the Gospel, Jesus steps into the Jordan with profound humility. He stands among sinners not because He must, but because He chooses to walk with us. His baptism marks the beginning of His mission: to be light for the world, strength for the weary, and freedom for the oppressed. The Spirit descends, the Father proclaims His love, and Jesus embraces His call.
This feast also reminds us of our own call. At our baptism, we received the light of Christ—a light meant not just to be held, but shared. Baptism is a lifelong invitation to live as Jesus lived: with humility, courage, compassion, and a heart turned toward others.
We carry Christ’s light when we offer kindness, stand for what is right, bring hope to the discouraged, and share our faith with gentleness and joy. Baptism is not a moment in the past but a mission for today. When we live as people of the light—in our homes, our workplaces, and our communities—we continue Christ’s work in the world.
Just as Jesus began His mission at the Jordan, we are sent from our own baptismal waters to shine, to serve, and to bring God’s love wherever we go.

This past weekend, we joyfully welcome 22 individuals who are walking a beautiful journey of faith through the OCIA process. They have asked us—Resurrection Parish—to keep them in prayer and to support them as they grow in their love for Christ and discover more deeply how much God loves them. Their witness reminds us that each of us is called to ongoing conversion and a deepening of our own faith.
Please join us in prayer for these brothers and sisters:
Father of Mercy,
we thank you for these your servants.
You have sought and summoned them in many ways,
and they have turned to seek you in
the midst of this community,
Resurrection Parish.
You have called them today,
and they have answered in our presence:
we praise you Lord, and we bless you.
Amen

Father Bill referenced this book in his homily last weekend—it’s truly worth exploring.
The Cost of Discipleship compels the reader to face himself and God in any situation. Bonhoeffer speaks of "Cheap Grace": preaching forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, communion without confession.
"Cheap Grace" is grace without discipleship. "Costly Grace" is the gospel which must be sought again and again, the gift which must be asked for, the door at which a man must knock. "It's costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life."

We’d love for you to become a registered member of Resurrection Catholic Parish!
Registration is a wonderful way to feel truly connected and cared for within our faith community. It helps us keep you informed about parish news, events, and opportunities to grow in your spiritual journey. Being registered also ensures you receive the support you need for sacraments and pastoral care—and it’s required to be eligible to serve as a Godparent at Baptism or a Sponsor at Confirmation. Most importantly, registration is a beautiful expression of your commitment to building a spiritual home—a place where you can worship, belong, and share your gifts with others.
Thank you for being a part of our parish family.

We have a special retirement to share!
After eight wonderful years of dedicated service, Lyn Mihalik has decided to retire, and we are truly grateful for all she has contributed to our parish community.
It has been a blessing to work alongside Lyn—her kindness, grace, and commitment have touched so many. While she is stepping away from her office role, Lyn has generously offered to help when staff are on vacation, so we’ll still see her smiling face from time to time.
Even in retirement, Lyn remains deeply involved in many parish ministries, and we are fortunate to continue having her as an active member of our faith family. If you see Lyn, please join us in thanking her for her years of service and dedication. Lyn is truly a gift to our parish!

What is it to Discover the Wonder of Eucharistic Miracles?
Eucharistic miracles are extraordinary signs where God makes the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist visible—such as a consecrated Host becoming flesh or blood, surviving fire, or providing miraculous nourishment. These events, carefully investigated and approved by the Church, strengthen our faith in this profound mystery.
The Vatican International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles, created by St. Carlo Acutis, features over 100 documented miracles from around the world. This is a duplicate of his exhibit, which is filled with stunning photos, historical accounts, and scientific studies, the exhibit invites us to rediscover the beauty of Christ truly present in the Eucharist.
Why It Matters
Eucharistic miracles remind us that the Eucharist is not a symbol—it is Jesus Himself, truly present in Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. This exhibition calls us to:
- Renew our faith
- Deepen our reverence
- Grow in love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament
About the Exhibition
Designed by St. Carlo Acutis—a young Italian teen devoted to the Eucharist—the exhibit includes:
- Over 100 documented miracles, some dating back to the 3rd century
- Photographs, artwork, and historical descriptions
- Scientific studies from well-known miracles like Lanciano and Sokółka
St. Carlo’s mission was simple: to help people rediscover the power and beauty of the Eucharist. As he said, “Jesus is my great friend, and the Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.”
Come join us and learn more about the Eucharistic Miracles!

2026 Season of Lent
Lent is a time of profound spiritual depth that invites Catholics to prepare for the great celebration of Easter. The 40-day period of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. The number 40 symbolizes a period of trial, purification, and preparation for something new, making it the perfect opportunity for renewal and transformation. During Lent, Catholics are called to seek the Lord in prayer, serve by giving alms, and practice self-control through fasting. The season also serves as a time for the baptized to renew their baptismal commitment and for those preparing to become Catholics to learn and discern their desire to become Catholics. (USCCB)
As always, you are invited to participate in a variety of practices designed to help us grow closer to God as we prepare our hearts for Easter.
- Lenten Small Groups – Starts January 31, 2026 (See below & sign up today!)
- Ash Wednesday – February 18, 2026
- Coming Soon: Mass & Worship schedule for Lent & Easter.
- Soup Suppers (Stay tuned for information)
- Palm Sunday: March 29, 2026
- Good Friday: April 3, 2026
- Easter Sunday: April 5, 2026

Christmas is traditionally a season of giving. As God the Father gave us His Son for our salvation, so we are called to give of ourselves to others – to love God, love others, and make disciples of all people by sharing the gifts God has given us. This includes sharing our time, talent, and treasure.
As we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus, I ask that you consider what it means to be a good steward of the gifts God has given you. Prayerfully reflect on the blessings in your life, and how you might express gratitude to God for those blessings. Thank you for your generosity and may the joy and love of Jesus fill your heart this Christmas.
-Father Bill

Family Promise was deeply grateful for the incredible generosity shown by our parish ministries this Christmas. The gifts, gift cards, and even the hot chocolate brought so much joy to Christmas morning for the families they serve.
Additionally, the families were truly delighted and thankful for the beautiful Christmas meal provided by Resurrection. What a wonderful expression of love and stewardship—together, as a parish, we made this season brighter and filled it with hope.

Our SVdP parish members are pleased to announce the addition of a Thrift Store Shed for parishioners to drop-off their used clothing and small household items.
The shed is located next to the Hay Barn just a few steps from the entrance to Rossman Hall. There are easy to follow instructions located on the doors of the shed.
The shed has been made possible by a grant and the work of members Ralph C., George M., Karen C., Mike T., and parish staff.
