Twenty-fifth Sunday After Pentecost
November 6, 2016

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.

We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.
We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

the Groundbreaking Ceremony
for our New Parish Hall
November 6, 2016 beginning @ 10:00 a.m.

November 1, 2016
Dear Members and Friends of Resurrection Parish:
You are by now surely aware that this Sunday, November 6th, is Consecration Sunday & New Parish Hall Groundbreaking for our congregation. We will have worship services at 8:15 and 10:30 this Sunday. We believe that you are invested enough in your spiritual growth and the mission and ministries of our congregation to attend this special Sunday.   B reakfast will be served beginning at 9:15 and the groundbreaking ceremony will start immediately at 10:00.
We would like to have as many of you there as possible so we can get a group photo of this historic ceremony. If you have not yet finalized plans to attend these two events, please do so as soon as possible.
Our goal is to have every member and regular worship attendee present. The effectiveness of our church's mission and ministries next year depends on your participation and stewardship. Please make whatever sacrifices are necessary to be with us this Sunday. I look forward to sharing this special day with you.
Your servant in Christ,
Father Scott+

Family Worship Sunday

[Verse 1:]
This is my prayer in the desert
When all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

[Verse 2:]
And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me, Lord, through the flame

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

[Bridge 2x:]
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

[Verse 4:]
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow

In your ocean, I'm ankle deep
I feel the waves crashin' on my feet
It's like I know where I need to be
But I can't figure out, yeah I can't figure out

Just how much air I will need to breathe
When your tide rushes over me
There's only one way to figure out
Will ya let me drown, will ya let me drown

Hey now, this is my desire
Consume me like a fire, 'cause I just want something beautiful
To touch me, I know that I'm in reach
'Cause I am down on my knees, I'm waiting for something beautiful
Oh, something beautiful

And the water is risin' quick
And for years I was scared of it
We can't be sure when it will subside
So I won't leave your side, no I can't leave your side

In a daydream, I couldn't live like this
I wouldn't stop until I found something beautiful
When I wake up, I know I will have
No, I still won't have what I need

Election Day of Prayer
Tuesday, November 8, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

On Election Day, Tuesday the 8th, Resurrection Episcopal Church will open its sacred space to the community for a day of prayer beginning when the polls open at 7:00 am to when the polls close at 7:00 pm. The public is invited to come in at any time to light a candle and pray for our election process, and pray that all peoples will vote in good conscience, seeking the common good and promote the dignity of all human beings.
During the day, there will be guided prayers at fou r different hours to ask God to guide our nation and the peaceful unity of its citizens. We will pray for all of our political leaders, present and future, the sacredness of life, promote peace among people, religions and nations, care for God's creation, preserve religious freedom and protect those who are the most poor and vulnerable.
7 am - Morning Prayer
12:00 pm - Noonday Prayer
5:00 pm - Evening Prayer
7:00 pm - Compline
I encourage our community to pray that, no matter the results of the election, our people will work together to build a civil society of love, hope and peace.
