Easter Sunday
April 1, 2018

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.

We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

Easter Egg Hunt
March 29, 2018

Thank you, David Wall, for the awesome wall sculpture
The metal sculpture depicting Leonardo DaVinci's  The Lord's Supper  created by artist David Wall has been installed in the Parish Hall.  It will make its debut at the Maundy Thursday service tonight.  Please come and view this amazing gift to Resurrection.
Holy Saturday Prayer Vigil

Will you sign up to come to the church for one hour during the evening of Holy Saturday to pray for yourself, this parish, our nation, and the world? The church will be open, and you will be able to simply come in and pray in the nave on this most Holy night as Jesus lays in the tomb.

Sign up here:   Holy Saturday Prayer Vigil

Everyone is invited to our annual Easter Brunch at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 1 in the Parish Hall!    The Brunch will be a potluck affair, so please bring your favorite egg or breakfast casserole, quiche, bread, juice or fruit to share.  A sign-up sheet to help with setup, breakfast items and cleanup will be in the  narthex on Palm Sunday.
Also, there will be a raffle for Easter Baskets that you do not want to miss!
We hope you will join us in celebrating Christ's Resurrection!
We will have out annual Resurrection Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, April 1, at 9:45 a.m.   There will be areas for ages 0-3, 4-6 and 7 & up.

Easter Basket Giveaway
These two Easter baskets will be given away
after the Easter Egg Hunt Sunday morning!

This Week's Anthem:

Easter Anthem in Celtic Style
Based on  Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bands),
a German Easter hymn by Martin Luther
arr. Bradley R. Norris

Christ Jesus lay in death's strong bands
for our offences given;
but now at God's right hand he stands
and brings us life from heaven.
Therefore let us joyful be
and sing to God right thankfully
loud songs of hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Love reigns: Christ has overcome. God reigns: Hallelujah!
Death is not the final word. Life is changed, not ended.
Joy has come to the world; Blessed be God's holy name.

So let us keep the festival
to which the Lord invites us;
Christ is the very joy of all,
the sun that warms and lights us.
Now his grace to us imparts
eternal sunshine to our hearts;
the night of sin is ended.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Parents Night Out will be Friday, April 6th & May 4th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Free childcare will be provided by two of our preschool workers for Resurrection parents. Parents feed your children before coming or bring something for your children to eat. Children will play together and parents can have a few hours to themselves or with friends!

April 4th marks 50 years since the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Join the Sunday Christian Formation conversation, "3 Epistles on Race in America," as we explore contemporary racial relationships using writings that, while perhaps lesser known than King's famous "I have a dream" oratory, resonate powerfully today. The video curriculum includes speakers: New York City journalist Errol Louis, New York University professor and poet Fred Moten, and Trinity Church Wall Street Vicar, Phil Jackson. Hear their examinations of three civil rights era letters from Dr. King, James Baldwin, and Thomas Merton, and reflect with your church community.
