The Fifth Sunday of Easter
April 29, 2018
"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.
We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

World Relief News

Last year, Resurrection joined with Nacoochee Presbyterian and Grace-Calvary to sponsor a couple of Syrian refugee families as they settled into this country. Sarah Burke from World Relief reports that two cars were donated to the two families, and thanks to your generous donations, the two families were able to purchase insurance for 6 months, provide driving lessons, pay for their license, registration and tag for both familie s. Thank you again for your generosity.

Mark your calendar to celebrate the birthday of the Church on  May 20th . Pentecost will be this year's Youth  Sunday,  and we will have a lively celebration with Appalachian music with guest musicians. We are calling this an Appalachian Red Mass and everyone is invited to a BBQ picnic and sides after. So, bring your prize-winning pie, wear red, and come join us in a celebration of origins, our past, and our future.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward creating a paved or brick path
from the side door of the church to the Memorial Garden.

April 4th marks 50 years since the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Join the Sunday Christian Formation conversation, "3 Epistles on Race in America," as we explore contemporary racial relationships using writings that, while perhaps lesser known than King's famous "I have a dream" oratory, resonate powerfully today. The video curriculum includes speakers: New York City journalist Errol Louis, New York University professor and poet Fred Moten, and Trinity Church Wall Street Vicar, Phil Jackson. Hear their examinations of three civil rights era letters from Dr. King, James Baldwin, and Thomas Merton, and reflect with your church community.
