Twentieth Sunday After Pentecost
October 2, 2016

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.

We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.

We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

We will begin to gather intentionally for family-friendly and interactive worship on the first Sunday of each month during the 10:30 service.  Family Eucharist will include kid-friendly liturgy and a variety of contemporary music.

Can't wait to see all families, children, and youth on Sunday, October 2nd!

Women's Bible Study
The women's Bible study group  will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, beginning next Thursday, October 6, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., at the church to discuss Lysa Terkeurst's Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl.

Please bring cheese & crackers, beverages, and/or cookies to share.  We look forward to seeing you there.  It is never too late to attend!

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew group will be meeting on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. instead of on Saturday mornings.
Attention Ladies
It's time to sign up for the annual women's retreat. This year we are holding the retreat in the Bishop's Retreat Center at Camp Mikell, Toccoa, Georgia. The cost for great food, inspirational programming, optional crafts, lots of free time and terrific company is $170.  We are honored to have the Rev. Mary Demmer join us for a couple of sessions on Saturday.  Sign up in the narthex now by the big pink poster or at the usual sign-up table.

We look forward to seeing you there!  Linda Perry

Preschool News

We talked about how a leaf changes colors.  The children helped prepare for this experiment by breaking up the leaves and mixing them with rubbing alcohol.  We added some hot water and then waited for our results.  They did a great job making predictions on the colors we might find.
