First Sunday After Pentecost: Trinity Sunday
June 16, 2019

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.

We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

This Sunday's Anthem:

A Solo by Dolores Chandler

By C. Austin Miles, 1912

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses

And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me is falling
But He bids me go, through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling

And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

Inspired by the gospel of John, chapter 20, this hymn celebrates the joyous companionship its author, C. Austin Miles, experiences with Jesus as he walks through the garden.

Thanks to all for contributing newspaper to the Smithgall Humane Society over the past years.  The Shelter shredded these up and used as bedding in the  puppy and kitty kennels.  However, they have now started to use another type of bedding and will no longer use paper.  We will remove the donation box at the front door of the Church next week.  Your help over the years is much appreciated. A big Thank You from our furry friends.

Preschool News

What a fun week we have had so far! This week our theme is camping and the kids got to enjoy a s'more by the "campfire" and got to decorate a pillow case!

Resurrection Butterflies are getting ready!

Hey everyone.

I hope you're having a great summer so far. I want to let you know there will be no youth group this Sunday. I am attending a youth retreat at Kanuga until Friday, June 21st. Please pray for Brandon, Mallory, Sophie and me as we travel and worship with youth at Kanuga.

Our next youth group meeting is on Sunday, June 23rd at 9:30 a.m. Also on Sunday, June 23rd after the 10:30 service, there is Family Promise training. It would be great if some of our youth were trained to help out with children staying during Family Promise weeks.

I will be sending a parent survey soon to the email addresses I have for you. This survey has a few summer events for consideration. Please take time to quickly fill it out and, as always, if you have any questions, please let me know. My email address is:  [email protected].

These dates do not include church events.  All meetings are at 9:30 a.m.

See you all on the 23rd,
Christy Harris
