First Sunday After Christmas
January 1, 2017

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.

We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

Smithgall Woods First Day Hike

Join in on the "First Day Hike" at Smithgall Woods State Park on Sunday Jan 1 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.   The hike will start at the visitor's center promptly at 3:00 p.m.    We will hike 1.5 miles up the paved road alongside beautiful Dukes Creek to the Historic Log Cabin in the Cottage area normally only accessible to Cottage guests. In the Cabin, we will warm up with some hot cider and view the beautiful Cottage area.  If you are feeling adventurous, continue on the extra guided hike 1.1 miles up to Dukes Creek Falls.  Register in advance; $5 park pass or annual park pass required. Sturdy hiking shoes recommended.  For further information, call 706-878-3087 or ask Curtis Hixon.
Parish Hall Building Update

The parish hall renovation construction revealed prayers that were written by Resurrection founders on the wood studs from the original construction. On the door frame into the parish hall, this message was written by our "Mama" Barbara Brown Taylor+. On Sunday, January 8th, we will have markers available for you to write your prayers and wishes on the studs in the new parish hall for future generations of Resurrection faithful.

Women's Bible Study
First & Third Thursdays, beginning January 5, 2017

"We will begin our new Bible study,  Finding I Am , in January.  We meet at 6:00 on the first and third Thursdays at the church.

Due to construction, we may have to be flexible on our meeting place - this is a good thing! In this study, we will be discussing the 7 "I Am" statements from the Gospel of John.  Our own Tera Johnston will be leading this study.

If you have any questions, please contact Tera, Patty Kidd or me. We will be glad to help.

We hope you all can make it and ... bring a friend!"
