The Eighth Sunday After Pentecost
July 26, 2020

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.

We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

Wherever you are on your faith journey, may you discover God's spirit here at Resurrection. May you experience God's love and feel God's blessing as you participate in the life of the parish.

If you or someone you know is in need of pastoral care, please contact the parish office, a member of the clergy, or a member of the vestry.  Please do not hesitate to let us know of any needs that arise.
Pastoral Care Corner

Seven parish members have tested positive for COVID-19.

Dennis Bergin is recovering at home from arm/shoulder surgery yesterday.

Stephen Hall is receiving hospice care in his home for pulmonary fibrosis.

Pray for all of our sisters and brothers who are dealing with the challenging consequences of this pandemic.

Thank you for being grateful, responsible stewards of the gifts we receive from God.   What a blessing and honor to be stewards of what God has given to us!  Thank you for supporting our ministry and mission at Resurrection and allowing Resurrection members to be beacons of light in our parish and out in the community.  No matter what amount you give to Resurrection, your gift makes a difference in the ministry and mission we do. As part of your spiritual discipline, we hope you will make sure to joyfully make your offering so we can continue to shine our light in the parish and in our community.

Thank you for being a blessing!

Please contact Fr. Scott at [email protected] or (706) 865-9680 if you are willing to be put on a rotating schedule to record a reading for Sundays.

Thank you for serving!

Weed Eating Volunteers Needed!

We need volunteers to help keep our church grounds maintained. Jim Duffield has been mowing for us each week. Ben and Clay Bolton and Jared Brode have been weed eating around the church - thank you so very much. The Administration Team would like to ask for volunteers on a weekly basis to come weed eat the islands, around the beds, and around the church, fences, and parking lot.  If you feel called to help, please sign up for a week or two. If you have any questions, you can contact Denise Dorsey at 706-969-0514 or  [email protected] .  Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

Resurrection is eager to return to in-person worship and as such, we are planning a small live outdoor worship service in the near future, should circumstances allow. The survey indicated that the majority of you are anxious about in-person worship, please know that we understand and have worked to make this and all of our services as safe as possible and easily accessible.   We would invite you to continue joining us for worship as you have been online with our pre-recorded option emailed out on Sunday mornings.

Unfortunately, when the time comes, we must limit in-person worshipers to no more than 50 individuals. Therefore, we ask that if you are feeling unwell, are running a temperature, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the two weeks prior to the service when a date is announced \ that you take your neighbor's health into consideration and worship with us from your home as opposed to joining us physically.

"If I do come to Resurrection for the service on, how will things be different? What can I expect?"  -  I'm glad you asked!
  • When you arrive, we ask that you wear a mask at all times.  If you forget to bring one, don't hesitate to ask and we will provide you with one.
  • You will be greeted in the parking lot by an usher who will quickly take your temperature (rules and regs), and if you are not running a fever over 100.4, you will be escorted to a seat in the outdoor area based on the number in your group.  All the seats have been marked to maintain social distance.
  • The Restroom will be available for emergency use, and we would ask, again, that if there is a line that you note the markings and maintain the minimum 6 feet required.
  • To help minimize the movement of any airborne particles, you will notice a few other differences:
    • the service will be time-limited to 40 minutes
    • we will not be singing songs
    • we will a have physical passing of the peace or offering bags
    • we are unable to celebrate the Eucharist and receive communion
    • there will be no receiving line for Fr. Scott as we proceed into the world
Please know that we are available to answer any questions you may have. Life is our most precious gift; so for now we all live with these limitations and look forward to our return to our true normal.
