The Transformational Impact of eCommerce on Retail Stores

 

According to the Platt Retail Institute, "Online sales, whether accessed by computer, tablet or smartphone, offer the greatest growth potential for retailers. In a January 2012 survey of 94 retailers by Retail Systems Research,  it was found that 63 percent of multichannel retailers expect the online channel to account for a sharp increase in their total sales by 2015. The study, "eCommerce 2012: Back to the Future," also found "the number of retailers committed to stores as a major growth strategy declining, and the need to do a good job integrating the customer experience across all channels more and more of an imperative."

For many of you, the Fiscal Year End is right around the corner!  Get prepared now, so you don't get "caught" unprepared the first day of your new fiscal year.

1.       Make sure you have entered all invoices from your vendors.

2.       Take a Physical Count Inventory by your year end.

3.       Review your Accounts Receivables.  Check balances and collect

        any outstanding debt.

4.       Make sure your employees' paycheck information is correct.

5.       Prepare for W-2 and 1099 statements

6.       Review all of your expense categories

7.       Prepare a budget for next year.

8.       Always back up your data before closing your year end!

9.       Consult your CPA or tax advisor for any additional information that they may need.
