Dear Riverbats,

During this time, change is ever-present. While you are steadfast in your commitment to continuing your education, know that ACC is unwavering in our commitment to your success, safety, and wellness. President Rhodes recently emailed all students, staff, and faculty to share how the College will continue to monitor and adapt to Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments to ensure the health of our ACC community.

While ACC is eager to reopen campuses, the college will take a measured approach to ensure the health and safety of our students, employees, and visitors. As Dr. Rhodes shared, “The transition back will be gradual. It will be a team effort that requires our continued flexibility, ingenuity, and commitment to student success." You may continue to check for updates on our return to campus website .
Last week, you received a message from me highlighting plans to open study spaces at ACCelerators. As an update, we will not be reopening the ACCelerator locations at this time. Only students who have an in-person class will be allowed on campus; all other courses and student services will remain online.

I understand you may be experiencing a technology need for a laptop or internet. These tools are fundamental to your success as an online student. If you are struggling to succeed with your current equipment, you may be eligible to borrow an iPad or to receive additional CARES technology funding if your course requires a laptop or other specialized equipment. Further, many of your software needs can be accessed through the ACCelerator Virtual Desktop
Your Student Affairs team wants you to know that we continue to be here for you-- even remotely. We want to create an engaging experience where you can continue to connect virtually.

I encourage you to consistently check the Virtual Events Calendar to stay involved, find a fun outlet, or learn about services available to you.
Remember, you still have online access to all the support you’re used to receiving: one-on-one tutoring, student life, advising, academic coaching, library services and much, much more.

Please know we will keep you informed as plans continue to change. I want to encourage you to take personal responsibility for your health and safety and those around you. In a time of uncertainty, it is important that you know we are here for you and ready to help. Stay on track, Riverbats. You’ve got this!

Sincerely,

Dr. Shasta Buchanan
