A Word from our Head of School

Hello to all of our amazing Treasure Coast Classical Academy families. If you are a returning family, I am so excited to see you again and I hope you had a peaceful relaxing summer with your friends and families. If you are new to TCCA, welcome! We are so excited to welcome you to our campus and look forward to getting to know all of you as the year progresses.

As you may have heard, Treasure Coast Classical Academy received an A rating for the 23/24 school year from the Florida Department of Education! This is a testament to the dedication of our teachers and staff, the hard work of scholars, and the commitment of our parents. We are looking forward to another successful school year ahead but there are a few things I wanted to share as we begin our final descent into the 24-25 school year.

  • School Supplies: Please use this link to pay your $75 for your scholar’s supply order. This method has proven to work best for our teachers, scholars, and families. Mr. Greene and his team have ordered, separated, and delivered these supplies into your scholar’s classroom already.

  • Meet the Teacher - Please sign up here for Meet the Teacher, August 8. It runs from 10am-6pm, with an hour lunch for our faculty and staff from 1-2pm. Our parking is limited. Our faculty and staff will be parking in the carline loop and the entire parking lot will be reserved for you.
  • Please sign up here ahead of time.
  • Please honor the time window of 1 hour. If you sign up for 2-3 Our hope would be that your car has left the parking lot by 3pm. This makes it possible for the 3-4pm crowd to come in without parking issues.
  • 6th Grade and New Scholar (7-11th grade) orientation. This is a time for our 6th grade parents as well as new families to TCCA to hear about the transition and expectations of Upper School. It will give new families an opportunity to speak with administration and include answering any questions you may have. If you have both lower and upper school scholars we recommend attending the 6-7:30pm time frame.Click this link to RSVP.
  • Kindergarten and New Scholar K-5th grade orientation. We will be hosting a time from 9:00-9:45 am for us to share first day expectations, as well as answer any questions you may have.

  • Car Line - Each year, car line is the most difficult adjustment everyone has to make. If you follow the guidelines from the beginning, it will make this transition back into school much safer for our children. Here are a few suggestions:
  • STAY OFF OF YOUR CELL PHONE IN CARLINE.
  • DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR FOR ANY REASON.
  • Please have your scholar ready to exit your vehicle when you arrive at the zipper portion of the carline.
  • Lightning Delays. This happens at least once every school year. My number one responsibility is to keep your children and my faculty and staff safe. If a storm rolls in during the carline, we MAY have to stop the carline for a period of time until the lightning is out of the area and it is safe to have people out from under the protection of the building. This may mean a longer car line. We cannot and will not release any scholars to you even if you get out of your car and come in to the building. The front office will not be open or allowed to release scholars during this time. We have to follow safety procedures and protocols in place. No exceptions will be made.
  • WHEN EXITING OUR PROPERTY TURN RIGHT. Please exit turning right ONLY onto Cove Rd in the morning and afternoon. Here are our reasons for asking this of all of you:
  • Cars making a left hand turn is unsafe for our walkers and crossing guards
  • Cars making a left hand turn backs up the car line, often causing it to come to a complete halt.

  • Uniforms - Please send your scholars dressed in accordance with The Treasure Coast Classical Academy dress code. If a scholar is in violation of the dress code, they will be sent to the clinic to either change or to call home. Time out of instruction will be counted as an absence for the missed class.

  • School Start and End Times - TCCA will open our carline every morning at 7:30am. This is an hour before school begins. Your scholar(s) will go into the cafeteria until 8:00 am. At that time, they will be released to their first period teacher. If you need to drop them off earlier, they must be enrolled in the Before and After Care Program. Carline will begin in the afternoon promptly at 3:30pm and will be closed by 4:15pm. We ask that you do not sit on our campus or on Cove Rd. before 3:00pm. Those of you waiting on Cove Rd. before 3pm have caused a delay in our building permits and damaged the relationship with the county. Please understand and respect this expectation. If you need to pick up your child after 4:15, they must be enrolled in our Before and AfterCare Program.

  • Volunteers - Before school begins, Mr. Greene needs four volunteers with power washers and five volunteers to help clean up campus and paint. You can sign up here and Mr. Greene will contact you to schedule a date and time. You do not need to be background checked for this volunteer role but if you wish to volunteer during the school year, please register for a background check here.

Thank you for taking time to read this. It is a lot of information and I realize it doesn't answer every question you have. During Meet the Teacher, our administration will be circulating the building and happy to answer any questions you may still may have.

I am so excited for the heartbeat to return to campus. It is too quiet in our building and I miss our scholars. It is my privilege to serve as Treasure Coast Classical Academy’s Head of School. Enjoy your last few days of summer and I look forward to seeing you on August 8 at Meet the Teacher, or Monday, August 12, 2024 for our first day of school.

Sincerely,

Kirsten Pendleton,

Head of School
