Dear DACC students and families,

Thank you for your patience as we continue to respond to changing information and conditions as it pertains to our Return to School Plan. Our administrative team has been working diligently to create a plan that keeps student and staff safety as a priority while continuing to deliver a high-quality education.

At last night’s Board of Education meeting, the DACC Board authorized the use of four optional educational models that could be implemented throughout the year, given the status of COVID-19 and pending guidance from state leaders, local health officials, and district criteria.

Our Return to School Plan, listing those four models, has been posted to our web site here as a printable PDF. This page of our web site will serve as a hub for the most up-to-date information as we move toward the start of school. In this email, please find a video that outlines the Return to School Plan, along with more information below for your reference.
The DACC Board of Education authorized starting the school year with Plan C: Academics Remote and Labs Blended . Please note that in this model, the below programs will continue coming to school all five days:
  • Cosmetology
  • Fire Service Training
  • Food Service
  • Hospitality

The Board of Education has also authorized delaying our start date for students. Students in the below programs will begin the week of August 24 th :
  • CBI 9
  • Engineering 10
  • Level 1 students, including seniors enrolling in a Level I program

Pharmacy Tech will not attend the week of August 24; they will begin on August 31.

All students will be in session the week of August 31st. On Monday, we will email to you a detailed and thorough document explaining what that schedule looks like, along with information you will need to know and actions you will need to take before the start of school.

I understand that by providing this information, it likely brings up more questions. However, I ask that you take the weekend to look over these plans with the understanding that as of today, we are moving forward with Plan C. Look for many more answers to be sent home via email on Monday and in the meantime, use this form to submit your questions so we can get them answered as quickly as possible..
Best Regards,
