Dear Parents and Members of the NDA Community,

We hope you and your family are doing well and continue to remain hopeful during this time. As school approaches we wanted to communicate with you regarding Notre Dame Academy's direction for the Fall and begin a conversation which will help guide our school this year.

Every school in the world is having to rethink education and, although we are called to remain hopeful, we must continue our journey under great uncertainty and in an ever-changing environment.

Conditions are fluid and details are changing daily. The decisions we are making today are the best we can make given the information we have. Based on how events evolve over the next five weeks, adjustments in the plan could be made. Please take a moment to review the slide show on our website and share your feedback in a brief survey.

Our primary goal is the health and safety of all members of the NDA Community. We believe by starting slowly in a hybrid model and building capacity we improve the probability of staying in school. We will only move to an all virtual platform if required by a government agency, which has the authority to mandate this decision. This Fall, NDA will begin slowly and intentionally in order to continue progressing and move forward incrementally when we can do so safely and with firm footing. 

We do not pretend to believe that all decisions will be met with universal approval. There are many opinions and a great number of intelligent men and women all of whom deserve our respect. However, we must move forward as a community, unified in our hope and committed to our children's future. Catholic education is a value not only to our sons and daughters, but our community, our nation and the world. 

In order to fully contextualize our planning, please know we have sought input on a regular basis and have, throughout this process, consulted with a number of groups including:
  • Envisioning the Future Committee
  • Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Committee
  • Curriculum and Student Life Board of Education Subcommittee
  • Parent / Staff Focus Group
  • NDA Leadership Cabinet 
Among those groups were 12 teachers across seven departments, 12 parents, the Superintendent of GRACE, the Associate Superintendent of Education for the Green Bay Diocese, a GRACE principal, a Norbertine priest, two NDA Learning Resource Specialists, the Directors of Maintenance and Technology, the Associate Principal, Principal and President.

It continues to be a pleasure to work with you and your family. We are looking forward to beginning our year together!

Esperamos que usted y su familia estén bien y sigan siendo optimistas durante este tiempo. A medida que se acerca la escuela, queríamos comunicarnos con usted sobre qué pasará con Notre Dame Academy para el otoño y comenzar una conversación que ayudará a guiar a nuestra escuela este año.
 
Todas las escuelas del mundo tienen que repensar la educación y, aunque estamos llamados a mantener la esperanza, debemos continuar nuestro viaje bajo una gran incertidumbre y en un entorno en constante cambio.
 
Las condiciones son fluidas y los detalles cambian a diario. Las decisiones que estamos tomando hoy son las mejores que podemos tomar dada la información que tenemos. Según la evolución de los eventos durante las próximas cinco semanas, se podrían hacer ajustes en el plan. Nuestro objetivo principal es la salud y la seguridad de todos los miembros de la comunidad de NDA. Creemos que al comenzar lentamente en un modelo híbrido y desarrollar la capacidad, mejoramos la probabilidad de permanecer en la escuela. Solo nos trasladaremos a una plataforma totalmente virtual si así lo requiere una agencia gubernamental, que tiene la autoridad para ordenar esta decisión. Este otoño, NDA comenzará lenta e intencionalmente para continuar progresando y avanzar progresivamente cuando podamos hacerlo de manera segura y con paso firme.
 
No pretendemos creer que todas las decisiones se cumplirán con aprobación universal. Hay muchas opiniones y una gran cantidad de hombres y mujeres inteligentes que merecen nuestro respeto. Sin embargo, debemos avanzar como comunidad, unificados en nuestra esperanza y comprometidos con el futuro de nuestros hijos. La educación Católica es un valor no solo para nuestros hijos e hijas, sino también para nuestra comunidad, nuestra nación y el mundo.
 
Para contextualizar completamente nuestra planificación, tenga en cuenta que hemos buscado aportes de forma regular y, a lo largo de este proceso, hemos consultado con una serie de grupos que incluyen:
  • Visualizando el Comité del Futuro
  • Comité de enseñanza, aprendizaje y currículum
  • Plan de estudios y vida estudiantil-  Subcomité de la Junta de Educación
  • Grupo de enfoque de padres / personal
  • Gabinete de Liderazgo de NDA
Entre esos grupos había 12 maestros en siete departamentos, 12 padres, el Superintendente de GRACE, el Superintendente Asociado de Educación de la Diócesis de Green Bay, un Director de una escuela de GRACE, un sacerdote Norbertine, dos Especialistas en Recursos de Aprendizaje de NDA, los Directores de Mantenimiento y Tecnología, el Director Asociado, Director y Presidente de NDA.
 
Sigue siendo un placer trabajar con usted y su familia. ¡Esperamos comenzar nuestro año juntos!
