Rev. David Crabtree, pastor of First Assembly of God in Worcester, Massachusetts until his retirement in 2007, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ this afternoon following a long illness.
Known for his stirring rhetoric and his black books full of powerful sermons, Bro. Crabtree was a preacher among preachers who traveled extensively proclaiming the Word of God. In addition to pastoring, he taught Homiletics at Northpoint (formerly Zion) Bible College for several years, while Sister Crabtree taught in the College's music department.
Sister-in-law Ramona Crabtree, wife of former Northpoint president, Dr. Charles Crabree, said, "Many will be in heaven because of his ministry around the world."
The funeral service will take place at the Church of All Nations, pastored by the Crabtrees' son-in-law Rev. Mark Boykin and located in Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Ed Laughlin, Northpoint Director of Finance, will represent the College. A close friend of Bro. Crabtree, Bro. Laughlin said, "He modeled how to live this Christian walk, and he modeled how to exit this life with dignity and grace."
Please remember Bro. Crabtree's dear wife Dawn, daughters Susan and Beth, son David, and the entire family in prayer as they go through this difficult time. You may email condolences to edawncrabtree@gmail.com.
Further details about the funeral will follow as they become available.
In His service,
Dr. Patrick Gallagher
Dean of Academics
Senior Vice President
