Napoleon expressed faith in a new world for all humankind when he said: “Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires; but upon what do these creations of our genius depend? They were founded on force and have perished. Jesus alone founded His empire upon love; and it shall last forever.”
Sue Sikking taught that the empire of love is closer than we know; it is the secret place within, the soul. Every one of us will “die” to the limited personal self we think we are and come alive to a completely new being.
An empire must have an emperor - one who is in command, a supreme being. Our emperor will not be a person, but the one Power which dwells in every one of us. Every soul must recognize the inner presence of God. We know there is an inner voice which guides us and moves us. We are speaking of it when we say, “I knew I should,” or “I had a feeling,” or, “Something told me.” Scripture tells us, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” Our logical mind has been known to drown out this still, small voice because of its need for evidence. As we move into the empire of love we shall all listen to and hear our inner wisdom.
