Elected as Next Moderator;
Eight New Governing Board Members elected
The Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) General Conference XXVII elected Rev. Elder Cecilia Eggleston as the next Moderator to serve a term of six years. Over 500 registered delegates, including virtual voters, elected Rev. Elder Eggleston after two rounds of voting.

The Governing Board appointed Rev. Elder Don Eastman to serve as the Interim Moderator in the role of facilitating the Business Meeting. Rev. Elder Tony Freeman withdrew his candidacy after the first round of voting. Rev. Freeman received a standing ovation.

The General Conference also elected a new Governing Board to fill eight (8) seats, four clergy and four laity. Six (6) year terms were given to the two candidates in each house who received the highest votes, and three (3) year terms were given to the remaining candidates. 

Over three hours of variousmotions delayed the elections to begin after lunch.

The following are the elected Governing Board members and their terms.
The transition for the incoming Moderator and Governing Board includes orientation and team-building training on 05-06 July 2019 in Orlando, Florida, USA, facilitated by Rev. Elder Don Eastman. The last meeting of the outgoing Governing Board on 25 July 2019 will include the incoming Governing Board who will elect their officers and assume responsibilities at the end of the meeting.

The newly elected Moderator will take office on 01 September 2019. During this transition/integration period, incoming Governing Board members and Moderator will have initial communication and consultation with MCC Staff and Council of Elders.
