The Q&A Session re: controversy within UMC

Many of us have been following very closely the conflict in our denomination over the past year. After the Special Session of General Conference in February of 2019 voted to adopt the Traditional Plan, our Church Council voted in June to withhold 33% of our Shared Ministry funding from the apportionments we pay to our Annual Conference.
In December, we were contacted by the Cabinet (our District Superintendent and Bishop) and informed that if we ended the year without releasing the withheld Shared Ministry funds, then they would initiate the process of a pastoral change for the coming year.
On December 16 th , the Council reluctantly voted unanimously to release the Shared Ministry funds withheld in 2019.
We want to open a time for people to ask questions or gain more clarity about these issues. Some of our Church Council leaders will be available for a Q&A session on Monday, January 27th at 7:00 PM in room 114. Feel free to join us if you have questions.

Worship Sneak Peek
January 19, 2020

Join us on Sunday as we are led in worship by Rev. Gina Hendrickson, our District Superintendent. She will help us continue our Epiphany reflections to see how we can bask in the Light of Christ and “twinkle” together as connective sparks of hope and love and grace. Let’s explore together how our lives can “radiate” and become Light to a hurting and needy world through loving acts of kindness. Hope to see you there!
