Just As You Are

With busy, digital lives, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed with our personal families, needs and resources. Give to other people when I don't have 'enough' already? Today we'll examine the surprising joy, power and connection that comes from engaging in sacred service - sharing from the overflow of our limitless spiritual resources.

Bio

Rev. Dr. Michelle Medrano found Religious Science at age 15. Upon walking into the Mile Hi Church of Religious Science in Denver, Colorado, she knew she was "home."As a teenager, Michelle started volunteering at that church and eventually joined its administrative staff where she worked for six years. She continued her studies, became a practitioner, and in 1991, after receiving her degree from Ernest Holmes College, became a minister.

She then went on to be an Assistant Minister at the Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science for 4 years, the Senior Minister at New Vision Center for Spiritual Living in Phoenix for 17 years, and currently is an Associate Minister at Mile Hi Church of Religious Science.

During her 24 years of ministry, she has also served the International Religious Science movement in many of the volunteer leadership roles available, including being the Chair of the Core Council for 4 years.

New NVC Bookstore!
"FOCUS!" That's the word from Paul McNeese, manager of the NVC bookstore, now operating in its new quarters inside the church's office suite - and open both before and after the Sunday services.
"Necessarily," he says, "moving to our smaller space means that we will be carrying only materials highly relevant to our missions; texts and supplemental readings for classes, plus a 'used-book' section with a distinctly spiritual flavor (book donations are welcomed).
"Soon will come more locally crafted gift items," he reports, "and we always stock the current issue of Science of Mind Magazine.  So stop in and say hello."

NVC INFO & Volunteer/Giving Opportunities

Homeless Mat Bee
Mondays, 10am - Noon, Social Hall

NVC is making mats for the homeless to sleep on, concentrating on children's mats at this time. A doctor delivers the mats to the homeless and gives them free medical treatment.  Mats are crocheted from grocery bags and takes 500-700 bags.  Bags are made into Plarm (Plastic Yarn), & crocheted.

You can help in two ways:
1) Making Pharm (Plastic Yarn) - Bags are cut & strung into Pharm.  [Please bring a pair of scissors], 2) Crocheting Pharm into mats [Please, if possible, bring a "Q" size hook]

After training is a  Spiritual Discussion.   Once trained this can also be done at home.
