"Where the Light Gets In" 8/29/21
Invited Back
Rev Bob Uhlar will be back, LIVE, IN-PERSON, THIS Sunday, September 5. We encourage everyone to come in to the Sanctuary to enjoy another service. There will be a Q&A session immediately following.

In advance of Sunday Service, please email your clearly and concisely written questions to Marisa, at pa130@postnet.com. A board member will contact you for clarification, if necessary, and your question(s) will be read during the Q&A segment of Sunday's service.

For this second round of interviewing, the evaluation form has been modified to generate deeper feedback.

The evaluation forms will be available in the sanctuary. If you are unable to attend in person, you can download the candidate review form by clicking on the link and email to Marisa as soon as possible.

Rev Bob has offered to meet one-on-one with anyone who wants to ask questions or get to know him. Since his time will be relatively short this weekend (he's only in town for 1 day), you can meet with him via Zoom or by phone. Please email the office of your availability and indicate whether you would like to do Zoom or a phone call. Karen will send this information to Rev Bob for you to connect with each other.

CHAPLAIN MOMENT
UNITY WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 2021

Who knew that I could use this photo to illustrate “All Is Well with My Soul”?! Mark and I were having a beach moment with our granddaughter who lives in Brigantine. We truly were celebrating the ocean waters: “the flow of life, love, and peace” which is mentioned in the WDoP Guiding Prayer!

As a Chaplain of ULV, I encourage you to register (free) and participate in Unity WDoP on 9/8, 9/9 and join people all over the globe in affirming that “No Matter the Circumstances, All Is Well with My Soul.” Rev. Sandy shares that UWM does a great job with this celebration of our faith! What a meaningful way to start the new season! Check out this newsletter for more particulars!

Prayerfully, ~Renay
Upcoming Guest Speakers
We invite you to take a look at the incredible speaker line-up we have for the 3rd quarter!
Connecting With Others
Many people in our time feel disconnected – the opposite of feeling heard and empowered to be their best selves. Disconnection results in inner confusion and outer conflicts that lead to a world of pain - loneliness, anxiety, depression, addiction, bullying, violence and wasted human potential. We need a solution that restores hope.
The Connection Practice is a self-empowering skill for resolving conflicts that not only restores hope - it fulfills it.

How? empathy + insight = connection

Rick Stober invites you to join him on Zoom for a "coherence call" at 11:30am each morning. Feel free to join once a week or every day! Please join Rick for the Coherence call via Zoom.

Get Involved - Daily Word Readers Needed!
We are inviting people to video-record themselves reading the Daily Word for playback at Sunday service. Karen will be maintaining a schedule in the office. Please contact her at unitylv@rcn.com if you would like to be part of the service by reading the Daily Word.

Here's how it works: You will receive the text for the Daily Word for the Sunday you choose, you record it on your phone and send the video via email. Your video will be incorporated into the Sunday Service!

Once you select your date, and have the Daily Word for that day, you can record yourself and send it in to the office. You do not need to wait. The recording will be stored to be played on your day of choice.

We are now open to the public without reservations. If you would like to read the Daily Word live in our Sunday service, please contact Karen in the office with the date you choose!

Interested in Unity? What to Read First.
By Rev Ellen Debenport
Are you new to Unity or interested in learning more? Unity began as a publishing house, so naturally we have books for you! There’s a century’s worth of material to read, but I’ll refrain from listing it all here.

The foundational teachings of Unity were established by founders Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, who were intrigued by the power of thought, including prayer. They and a few others poured everything they were learning into the earliest books and magazines Unity published, starting in the late 1800s.
Seven Common Myths About Grief
By Molly Steele
Grief is a natural and normal reaction to loss but is often misunderstood. Most of what we were taught isn't useful, and mistaken myths about grieving only set up unrealistic expectations.

I became familiar with these myths through my own experience and while working with hospice families and other grievers throughout the years. In the past, I believed most of them myself.
