Stuck. This morning I just couldn’t shake the sluggishness. I was feeling stuck and I remembered something learned from a motivational speaker years ago: to change your attitude, change your position. With the temperature reaching 70 on the 18th of November, a walk with the dogs seemed to be the perfect remedy for my stuck-ness. The excitement of the dogs was infections, as was the beautiful sunrise. I needed to be reminded that the way things are right now isn’t the way they’ll be forever. When I returned home, I fired up some music, another sure-fire-mood-altering antidote for most things that ail us! At least those things in our control…

“Embrace uncertainty. Some of the most beautiful chapters in our lives won’t have a title until much later.” – Bob Goff

Feeling stuck? If you are, remember it’s possible to change that. It is possible to feel differently. Believe in possibility itself, because life is so very interesting. Life is a mystery and ever-changing. And even the mystery can be beautiful. Believe in your ability to figure things out as you go, your ability to stay “open and willing to turn the next page, to read the next chapter without needing a title for it.” (Jennifer Williamson)

And remember, dogs love to go on walks, and never seem to be in bad moods. They may be on to something.

“I have said these things to you so that my joy will be in you and your joy will be complete.” John 15:11

Advent begins November 29!
As we enter the time of Advent, we will be continuing to gather electronically, via Zoom. Adapting the ritual for lighting the Advent candles, for the Sundays in Advent, please have a candle available for the beginning of worship. We will sing an Advent hymn, then read the Advent liturgy together and, as a unified community, light our candles. It’s absolutely fine if you light the same candle every week, or, if you have an Advent wreath, light those candles.
