Canada Digital Adoption Program
As part of the Canada Digital Adoption Program, the Government of Canada has partnered with Digital Main Street and their ShopHERE powered by Google program to deliver the Grow Your Business Online grant to small businesses across the country.
Eligible businesses will receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to help with the costs related to adopting e-commerce and supported by a network of e-commerce advisors.
We are now accepting applications for the Canada Digital Adoption Program. Once your eligibility has been confirmed, you will be introduced to an e-commerce advisor who can help with your e-commerce strategy.

On June 26th we will be having a Business Succession event at 8:30am -9:30am at the Clarion hotel. This event aims to educate business owners about selling or transitioning their businesses. This is a free event and if business owners aren't available to make it in person, we also offer the event via zoom and will provide a zoom link to watch the event. | | |
On June 27th we will be hosting a Business Succession event in Thunder Bay at 8:30am -9:30am (Thunder Bay time) and an organization called Talent Beyond Boundaries will be doing a presentation at that event. This presentation will outline the TBB process/ services. and will explain how local employers can be matched with potential pre-qualified interview candidates. TBB has a roster of skilled and qualified refugees who are looking to immigrate to Canada. This program was developed to match refugees that are skilled and qualified in their respective fields, with a Canadian employer looking to hire. This event will also be offered virtually if business owners aren't able to make it in person. | | |

Event Details:
The Main Street Markets are returning this summer on Saturday, July 6th and Saturday, August 17th, with the street closed to vehicle traffic on Main St. S. between First St. S. and Second St. S.
The markets will play host to local and regional vendors and merchants, music and activities, along with food and beverage offerings.
This free public event is a great way to spend a summer afternoon in downtown Kenora exploring all the unique shops, eateries, and supporting local businesses.

Road Closure Notice
Fifth Street South from Sixth Avenue South to Eighth Avenue South will be closed to traffic and pedestrians beginning Wednesday, June 12, at 8:00 a.m. until further notice.
Local traffic will be permitted, and detour signs will be posted.
Moncrief Construction Limited (MCL) will be completing a water main repair.
We thank the public for their patience and cooperation during the emergency repairs.

Youth Enterprise Day Camp offers campers the opportunity to develop and execute their own "out of this world" business idea and meet local entrepreneurs and loan officers. They will also enjoy summer camp activities such as swimming, outdoor sports, theme days, and a special field trip!
Campers will host 'Business for a Day' where parents, friends and community members will have the opportunity to support campers and celebrate their achievements in entrepreneurship.

ArtsFest2024 needs some amazing and energetic volunteers to help us plan and operate the KidZone for this year's festival running July 20 and 21. As we get closer to the actual event, we will be running a few virtual planning meetings with our organizing team to go over how to make this event a success! And we will need your help to organize the event on the actual days of.
But the show can't go on without YOU! So get in contact and together, we can introduce a lot of young minds to the world of art this summer!

Matiowski Farmers' Market
The Matiowski Farmers' Market is back for the 19th year on the Kenora Harbourfront under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion. Running every Wednesday for 17 weeks, June 12th through October 2nd, 8:30 am to 2:00 pm with over 100 local and regional vendors weekly.
You will find produce, meat, treats, artisans, crafters, jewellers, community groups and so much more.

The Township of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls is seeking to retain the services of a qualified biologist, consultant, or firm to conduct an environmental assessment to determine all of the environmental impacts potential development will have on a geographic area of our community, including (but not limited to) water quality, fisheries, and wildlife habitats.
Interested proponents are invited to prepare a proposal which clearly indicates how they intend to carry out the work set in the project terms of reference. Consultants will have access to the Development Proposal, as well as site surveys. Please request these documents prior to submitting a proposal. All interested consultants must submit one electronic copy of their proposal. All proposals must be submitted by noon on June 18,2024.
Please note that the Township hopes to have this assessment and accompanying report complete no later than July 15, 2024.
