"In August 2016, approximately 90 percent of the homes and businesses in Denham Springs, Louisiana, were flooded. Our Model 1400 SmokinTex was under seven feet of water. The water receded four days later. We thought the SmokinTex was beyond repair and set it aside while we worked on our house. The smoker sat for about 6 months before we had time to look at it. We used a pressure washer several times to clean it. We opened the rear and made sure it did not have any water on the electrical components. It looked good, so we plugged it in and it appeared to be working. Our grandsons each smoked a chicken. Timothy Martinez, left, used Plowboy's Chicken Rub and Seth Martinez, right, used Jay D's Spicy Sweet Barbecue Rub. The smoker performed perfectly and both chickens were great. No components were replaced in the SmokinTex after the flood. Way to build them SmokinTex!" John O. Amazing!!!!! We love to see smokin skills passed down to the next generation! Keep it going! |
