Cienega Instrumental Music Program
The Cienega Instrumental Music Program is happy to announce our calendar for students to play music and participate in the program is on our website at We are continuing to update it as practices and performances are booked. We send a huge shout out and thank you to our exiting seniors and shared in celebrating with them at our Senior Celebration. All other bands played in a fantastic performance in-person to a limited audience and virtually to anyone who wanted to listen. The performance can be viewed on Bobcat TV, CHS' YouTube channel here:
The number of awards and achievements were amazing in a year where sharing music and being a part of music required innovation and determination. Thank you to our new program director, Mr. Knox. His first year was an excellent show of the amazing forward-moving director he is and will continue to be on the Bobcat campus.
Next year the Copper Thunder Marching Band has 3 festivals on the schedule, making a strong comeback after virtual learning during this year's season. We look forward to the upcoming year and the ability to play for everyone again. Thank you to the Booster Program for their support throughout the year and the parents for keeping music in your students' lives.
Have an awesome summer, keep playing music and we'll see you starting in July at (Marching) Band Camp!

Senior Exit Project- Class of 2022 (Current Juniors)

One of the most valuable pieces of the Senior Exit Project is the opportunity for students to shadow in a career field of choice. If the student is eager to complete his/her twenty hours prior to Senior year beginning, students are welcome to do summer shadowing. However, it is merely an option and not a requirement.
Remember that your SEP Project Proposal must be APPROVED prior to summer shadowing and the Parent Consent Google Form must be submitted BEFORE finals.

Students will receive notification of the approved proposals before the end of the school year. (Shadowing hours do not count until approved by the committee.)
Please refer to the information below for learning more about

Cienega’s PBIS Team did a great job this challenging year!
Pandemic Edition Phat Cat Cards have rewarded and incentivized over 1000 Bobcats to have positive behavior on campus. Those Bobcats were entered into drawings to win an Apple Watch, an Apple TV, a CHS yearbook, prom tickets, a Hydroflask, a Selfie Light Ring, and the packages “Summer Kick-Off,” and “Dinner & a Movie.” PBIS has helped teachers, too.
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Our CHS team works with a district team to identify and initiate programs that grow positive behaviors on campus.
Cienega’s PBIS team has been going strong for 16 years! Enjoy summer vacation Bobcat Nation!

World Languages Foodie Fest
Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day.
On May 5th, 1862 the French army attacked the Mexican army in the city of Puebla Mexico. The Mexican army was not prepared with weapons and it was a smaller army than the French but they still managed to win the battle. In Mexico this date is not a big celebration at all but the Cienega World Languages wanted to celebrate the only day of the year that Spanish and French were ever crossed in History.

Fellow Vail seniors,

Graduation is right around the corner and with that Baccalaureate is too! We are happy to announce that we will have a Baccalaureate ceremony for all of our Vail seniors this year!
But wait…what is Baccalaureate?
Baccalaureate is a Christian graduation ceremony where we celebrate our graduation through worship and praise. A guest speaker will challenge us to take on our faith as we transition into adulthood. Baccalaureate is a graduation tradition that goes back centuries. Here in Vail this year it will be held at the Vail Theater Of The Arts on May 16th at 6:00 pm. Seniors are allowed up to 4 guests. Regards of what faith or church background you come from, please know that we’d love to have you join us. All are welcome!

If you have any questions please email
