Gary White started working at St. Petersburg City Theatre in 1982 running lights for House on the Cliff. Gary's big push to get involved with SPCT was thanks to his wife, Chris, who had the lead. According to Gary, "She told me if I didn't get involved, I wouldn't see her for 8 weeks". Fifty six shows and 2 Lary awards for favorite lighting design, and he's still lighting the stage for his wife, who now has the role of Miss Daisy.
Gary also shared with us a few of his favorites over the years. Favorite drama lighting design: Look Homeward Angel. Favorite set designer: Sid Spate ("really knew how to challenge me"). Favorite director: My wife!
Gary is also looking forward to running the show on the theater's new light board that was purchased thanks to generous donations during our last show, Pirates of Penzance. SPCT is thankful to have Gary as our first crew member on lights with the new board too!
