The Mustang Volleyball Team
is STATE BOUND!
Our undefeated girls volleyball team is headed to the state championship in Murfreesboro, TN this week for the state championship!!!! Let's go Lady Mustangs!!!
TN Shakespeare Company (TSC)
comes to T-STEM @ East!
Working in concert with educators, TSC creates a positive and enthusiastic first impression of Shakespeare through students playing the play.
During The Romeo and Juliet Project our students receive three visits from TSC. Over the course of three sessions, students develop language to articulate their feelings, gain greater empathy and compassion for one another, and explore potentially life-saving actions in the face of potentially violent conflicts.

Teacher Spotlight
Ms. Riley
Ms. Riley's journey to becoming a teacher started when, as junior in high school, her history teacher asked her to tutor a peer on the research paper they were assigned. Her peer was a star athlete but a less than stellar student, and his eventual success on the paper confirmed her interest in helping others learn. She went on to study English literature and education at Welch College in Nashville, Tennessee and began her teaching career in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in 2004. While working for MNPS, she completed her Master's in English and American literature at the University of the South: Sewanee, where she wrote her master's thesis on Wendell Berry's fiction. In 2011, she moved from public school to Christ Presbyterian Academy and taught there until her family moved to Memphis in 2015. Being on the team at T-STEM East is her first teaching position in Memphis. She loves teaching her students and she is passionate about helping them leave her class stronger than when they entered. She is a level 5 teacher and a student favorite!
