Dear Metro Families, Faculty, and Staff,
"I thank God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:3-6).
Now, I'm not an Apostle - and, I'm definitely not the Apostle Paul, but I can relate.
Since March....Wow!
It's been something!
But, more to the point:
you've
been something!
Rated among the best COVID-19 responsive Christian schools in the world by Association of Christian Schools International, Metro Christian Academy is only as good as
you:
our partnering parents, faithful faculty, stewarding students, and diligent staff. Thank you!
These days, in various ways, there seem to be more questions than answers - about any number of things.
I am writing today to
try
to answer
some
of your Metro-related questions.
1) Here is our 2020-2021
calendar
. (Still the same one that we approved in February.)
2) Here are some of our
contingency
calendar considerations.
3) And, for now, here's some of our anticipated
protocol
.
But, as we know, things continue to change.
In times of great change, it's important and impactful to have what physicists and futurists alike call, "Islands of Stability."
Now, to be sure, that's God. He alone does
not
change (cf. Exodus 3:14; Malachi 3:6a; Hebrews 13:8; Jeremiah 31:30; Romans 8:28-39; etc.). He alone is our Protector, our Provider, our Healer, our Helper, our Hope.
But, I think Metro Christian Academy has been an
island of stability
for many - for a long time, and I would like to think that Metro
can
be that and
will
provide that for you and your family for the 2020 - 2021 school year and beyond.
We know that this requires a substantive investment on your part. We are humbled by that; we are heartened by that. We readily shoulder that entrustment of your financial resources - not to mention the vital entrustment of being called to come alongside your children as our students. Nothing is more important to us than that, viz. to serve God well by serving you well by providing a persistent, pervasive commitment to
the pursuit of excellence through Christ
.
We look forward to
doing
that. We look forward to
being
that. We look forward to
providing
that.
We look forward to moving forward -
with you
!
Partnering together,
Keith A. Currivean, Ph.D.
