Greetings!
Revitalize reminds you that "Whatever you do, do not call it second wave." Many of the initial hot spots (NY, NJ, New Orleans, most of California, Washington, and Oregon) are slowly moving to the next phase of their response. Yet in California and Oregon and other masking-social-distancing-and-stay-at-home communities we are experiencing spikes-up in the amount of cases. And then there are Florida, the Carolinas, Texas, Arizona, and other states quick to open where we have what could be best called the worst of someone else's First Wave. Below, in we have the state of the states and the comparison to Europe – equal in population – yet far different in COVID response and now outcomes.
In the bottom/right block we respond to yesterday's testimony before Congress by Adm. Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health at HHS who stated: "The only way that we will be able to understand who has the disease, who is infected and can pass it, and to do appropriate contact tracing is to test appropriately, smartly, and as many people as we can." The Revitalize List for June 24, 2020 ends with the now almost two-month old demand by Nobel Laureate Paul Romer for universal testing, a demand that the curators believe we need to explore further.
